Partition HardDrive for best performance?
I am getting a new Samsung hd501lj. I will have only XP installed for now. I will be using this computer mainly for gaming. I might have some mp3's but seeing as they aren't a priority I was wondering if I could partition the hard drive to put the games and OS at the outer layer and the excess stora...

I finished it. I just need to make some type of holder for the fan because it is mounted outside the case. My circle looks pretty good if I do say so myself. I bought some 1/4" chicken wire because the stock grill is kinda constrictive. Im still trying to figure out how I want to use it. Dremels are...

Any suggestions on cutting a side fan hole?
Ive ordered all the parts and my power works 250mm fan has arrived first. I am going to Wal-mart today to get my dremel and cut the hole for the fan. I will have to mount it outside of the case as my 120 Ultra X won't fit with the 30mm fan mounted inside the case. Ive never dremeled before, so if yo...

Mainly this has come about because I am building a new computer and also getting a htib soon. I was trying to cut cost by eliminating the need for another set of speakers. The TV will still be used to watch movies, and the onkyo htib will provided the sound. Then I want to be able to switch and list...

How do I hook up HTIB to computer
I was thinking of getting an onkyo Home theater in Box system and using it as my new computer speakers. Will I have to do anything special or have any converters or special sound cards to make this work? Will I be able to get 5.1 on the computer with them? I would like to have them hooked up where I...

I went into circuit city the other day and looked at a few. The Samsung is much brighter and has prettier colors than the viewsonic. I dont understand the viewing angle thing. I could way off to the side and see the screen fine <not that I would ever be looking at it from that angle> If you are look...

Audigy LS vs. X-fi
Is there any real difference is the new model Creative cards? I still have an old Audigy LS card I was thinking of using in my new rig. I dont mind buying a new card for under $50. But I would like to notice the difference.

Which 22" monitor? Viewsonic, Samsung?
I wanted to get a larger monitor with my new computer. It looks like 22" is the new sweet spot as far as price/performance. Here are the candidates I have narrowed it down to. Viewsonic VG2230wm Highly Awarded Viewsonic Q22wb Looks like same specs but cheaper? Any differences I wonder? Samsung 226BW...

Why the X2? Right now intel is on top. A e4300 lightly overclocked will cream anything that AMD has out right now, and they will soon drop in price to $113. Also 4 harddrives are going to be loud. They have larger capacity harddrives out now, 1TB drives will be released shortly, and 500-750GB hardri...

Looking for company that builds cases based on your design
Someone linked a company a while back that lets you design your own case and they build it for you. I cant find it now, Ive done tons of searchs for it. I can not remember how much they charge, but I dont have the tools to build a case out of metal, and I wasn't as interested in building a wooden ca...

I asked thermaltake when it will be on the market and got this reply. Thank you for interest in Thermaltake products. Max Orb will be released to Market within 4-6 weeks. I think that it is a solid design, It may be in a new class of heavy weights with the 120 Ultra Extreme. And yea it looks like it...
