router connected. no internet connection
I'm having trouble putting a wireless router at my dads office. I'm putting the Ethernet cable from the wall into the Internet port on the router and another cable from the out to the PC. There's no internet connection. The router does emit a signal and I can connect to it from another laptop, but n...

Re: Bluetooth headset solution for TV
A BT speaker is an option i considered as well. I dont know if the tv supports BT; I ran quickly through the settings menu and didn't see it, but seeing as its a current tv, it might. I think headset might also be used on her head if it's light enough and extremely easy to get on. (She has movement ...

Bluetooth headset solution for TV
Happy New Year! I gave a new tv to my grandmother and she wants to be able to listen to it at night. So I was thinking bluetooth headset. The issue is that typical tv headsets are large and have an auto sensor. What I want is something that she can have lying next to her and still play the sound, wi...

Thank you Washu. It's just a report and presentation. I don't know what code/language would be best. I don't have prior experience and this class didn't really cover the differences other than that some are used in some tools. Thank you for the advice so far, it's been useful in my initial draft. Re: Upgrade from an Antec P180 to a P183 for cable routing?
It depends on how neat you want to be. I used a small chisel and hammer to make crude holes in the motherboard tray on my P180. I had to use pliers to bend the metal and then covered the metal sheet edges with electrical tape (duct tape is great too). It's a wonder how well built this thing is. Many...

Thank you.
It found a backup that i completely forgot I did. And I remember that it's not even complete since there wasn't enough space to complete properly.

I finally got around to installing my WD drive to be used an internal backup and media drive. I ran HD Tune slow test and 2 sectors came out red (damaged). 1 in the 6th row and 1 in 7th. looking for a usb3.0 addon card
Would it matter what card i get? There are a few on newegg and amazon that have 4 ports and are around $15.
I figure they might not have the top usb3 speeds, but would be much better than transferring at 2.0.
And i have several external drives that would greatly benefit from this.
thanks

After rashly deciding to reinstall windows to deal with a bunch of problems, 1 being no sound, another being not being able to "log off", I lost a doc that i had been working on for a while. A few days ago my sound stopped. I had to bump the volume to the max to hear any words at all, and it came with a lot of fuzz and static. As for touchscreens, i will get him a tablet and get him used to the concept. Hopefully it'll help.
thanks for the advice

I bought him a Jawbone before and he never used it. The car does have handsfree and he uses it to talk. But sometimes he needs to check email or reply.
Might just get a used qwerty phone for now.

How do i get someone into smartphones?
This person has only used phones with buttons. He likes to read emails so has used several LG Env type phones on verizon. VMware vSpere HA question
I have a question about the concept of high availability and DRS of vms. Say I have 2 esxi servers and 2 storage boxes in a lab room. In an event that something happens of one of the esxi boxes, HA would kick in and move the VMs to the other one, correct? What if the power goes out in the building, ...

Ram question
I've got DDR2 Corsair Dominator 2x2gb at a rated 8500.
I bought another set but it turned out to be 2 x 1gb instead of 2x2. I haven't received it yet.
My question, will I see better performance even though the sticks are different?
or should I try to sell it and search for a 2x2 set

Thanks a lot all. I ordered the x650.
I saw that the new G360 is louder 30dba vs 14 in the 300W area, which I assume will be my max real Watts.
