And what would you think if he decided he'd never believe anything from an atheist? Of course not, False Idols come to mind. http://www.openbible.info/topics/worship_of_false_gods I don't do unexplained video links. Reading's faster and I don't risk being the umpteen-millionth person to watch some ...

This explain how one-sided and unjust this is (not sure if those outside the UK will be able to watch it).

The best, relatively concise resource I could find was this article which, at least at first glance, appears to be well documented and attempting objectivity. The man who wrote this is a self-confessed "Born Again Christian", would I believe anything that he preaches, I am a natural skeptic and I h...

Re: Windows 7 & Windows 8 Working Together?
Why on earth shouldn't they work together? I'm not aware that M$ changed any protocols or procedures to exclude Win7 and hence WinVista and WinXP working with Win8. The question is not so much "do they work together", but how well do they work together. No one can be certain until they try it, but ...

This is still a long way from your answer (because it is admittedly an incomplete review), but its worth a read if you are considering a W8 phone. This review does drop a few juicy snippets of information as to how W8 on a phone (or tablet) will work with any OS. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6415/w...

The vast majority of what he said was telling people that physics at a certain level was really not that difficult to grasp, and explained in very simplistic terms how and why the level of physics that he was describing is just about all anyone needs to know on the average day. Yes he did go a bit t...

Re: Republican rape chart
It couldn't be murder because it lacks intent. Regardless, it's specious to argue that abortion is acceptable because so many pregnancies terminate naturally. That was just me taking the piss, I dont consider the destruction of a Foetus in the early(ish) stages as murder either and obviously I dont...

You have made a very common mistake: you assumed Hebraic slavery was like colonialist slavery. It wasn't. Hebrew slaves were more like contracted employees: they could own property, had significant legal protections, and had the right to purchase their freedom at any time. A few even rose to wealth...

I understand a fertilized egg is not a human being. But just because the word that we use to describe a right-earning human being does not apply to a fertilized egg doesn't mean that it doesn't own rights. A Foetus is a parasite by the definition of a parasite, most parasite's we kill because they ...

Of course life is a gift of God Tell that to the children of Josef Fritzl. If "life" is a gift of God, then being imprisoned and raped by your own father must also be a "Gift of God", for in this example they are both very much intertwined. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritzl_case of course life be...

Finally, we arrive at my conclusion. I think that a fertilized egg has a right to life, because it satisfies the basic requirement of being a human being. If an adult has rights and a teenager has rights and a child has rights and a baby has rights, then the chain keeps going (I think) all the way ...

Here is a rather potent example of how religion "causes" harm. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-20054867 "I think that even when life begins in that horrible situation of Rape, that it is something that God intended to happen". This vile man wishes to impose his vile "religious" views on an...

That is part of your personal belief system. It cannot be proven that reason is superior in understanding all things. As a person who is reasonable I would agree. Yes, I understand, your sole reliance on reason and science is part of your "belief" system. Using that criteria alone, your conclusions...

Well they live by the myth that the rich are job creators, while dismissing supply-and-demand/real capitalism. I dont doubt that some of the rich entrepreneurs are job creators and as such deliver more tax revenue to the government than just sticking that money into a bank, however in times of rece...

So long as we all agree that a person's (unproven) beliefs about the methodology to be used to determine whether God exists plays an outcome in the results of whether you believe or don't believe that God exists, that is OK with me. Any demand that reason alone be used to decide whether God exists ...

I am not necessarily arguing one way or the other on the validity or usefulness of science, but your decision to rely on science in deciding whether or not God exists is an assumption and belief on your part that science is the appropriate way to know that. You cannot prove that science is the prop...

Re: Super Flower Golden Green 350W PSU
Andy, I think it'll take more than changing 80+ test methods. It's in the PSU mfgrs' self interest to sell the higher wattage supplies as the profit margin is much higher. Why would they opt to change the consumers' false views? That's precisely what I think as well. I expect that the whole 80+ sta...

So like I said, Metro Screen is nothing more than a significantly reworked Start Menu. I agree with you in principle, but it actually goes way beyond that, it also replaces the start bar, the system tray, the quick launch icons and to some degree it IS the desktop. This I am sure is just fine for m...

Re: Super Flower Golden Green 350W PSU
I believe that there is a huge "flaw" in how the 80+ PSU's are rated. It pretty obvious to anyone who has read a few SPCR PSU reviews that the idea of measuring the "efficiency" of any PSU at 100% of its rated maximum output is insane. The 20% makes sense to a certain degree, the 50% also makes sens...

This looks to be an excellent product, and not to expensive either, a great shame that it has been discontinued.
