oops.

mobile platforms are impressive indeed, one of the advantages of buying a nettop is that it will most likely use less power than a custom mitx build.

Re: Asus E35M1-M Pro: AMD Fusion Motherboard

the board is a early sample, the retail ones will have the bigger heatsink. presumably everything else will remain the same so 14w idle should be achievable, msi have proved that they are one of the more efficient motherboard makers. a good review too, i especially like the power consumption graphs,...

the pico according to the review.

i think the reason the seasonic was mistaken was because it's mentioned in the previous page explaining ac to dc conversion. i fell for it too until i took a closer look at the test system component list.

undervolt more? yippee! looking forward to the results with optimism.

perhaps the mhz readings you're getting are unreliable, a new version of cpuz just came out and it officially supports zacate/ontario. might be worth a shot.

another advantage of using an ssd - no big spikes in power consumption :) i'll probably jump the gun on a picopsu-80 and an edac ea1050( link ) 60w power brick, the edac isn't as good as the one from minibox but it's cheap and readily available. will report back if/when i get it together. edit: foun...

Re: 60w enough for undervolted sempron 140, 785g and ssd?

i know i'm cutting it close here, but the plan is to use the pico for a zacate system later so 60w is plenty. 38w idle seems pretty high, from memory there was a thread when the 785g chips first came out and someone undervolted an athlon ii 240 with my motherboard and almost broke 30w in idle (with ...

sb numbers are estimated dc, fusion is ac.
looking at picopsu efficiency, fusion dc numbers should be about 13w idle, 23w cpu load, 30w cpu/gpu load.

if zacate was too slow i would consider llano, it should be considerably cheaper than low end sandy and will probably have a better gpu. by all indications intel will stick to the hd2000 with their low end cpus, a shame really.

power consumption seems a strong point of the amd platform, as tested by hothardware anyway, i think the performance/watt is quite impressive.

i'm more interested in the llano, it's like a poor mans sandy bridge.

i say the antec because it's smaller, i don't like empty space and the silverstone will end up with lots. cooling an ion quietly in either case will be easy, and two good low rpm 80mms in the antec can be just as quiet as one 120mm in the silverstone. i'd also rather have a leftover pico-like psu th...

again you're blaming the signal from the video card, and refusing to acknowledge that some monitors can't do well even with a good signal. for example: vga out on my hd4200 produces a crisp as can be image on my dell s2409w and samsung 19", while the image on my acer x201w and dell 2007fp is 'blurry...
