Maybe they don't speak Engrish.

Yeah, I had a problem with Terratec's support (through Fostex) a while back, but when I finally got a real human, I ripped their support a new one and actually got what I wanted instead of scripted response.

Good luck!

I'd try a third-party software just to make sure that Abit is accurate.

I know from using Abit boards in the past that they are up to 10C higher than in reality.

How are you checking your temps?

I'd only believe what I read in SiS Sandra 2k4, conveniently located here:

But I guess I'm not that sensitive (must be the rock music).

Well, better try a Samsung.

I don't know how you can hear the slight "buzz" (which I guess I hear) if the case is dampened and the disc is suspended. Wouldn't accessing the drive create more noise than this slight buzz sound? Oh well...I'm a Seagater for life until the next best thing comes along (which really isn't a Samsung ...

Are they on ATA100 IDE cables?

To detect SMART go into your BIOS and make sure it's enabled.

If you can cram a 120mm fan in the back, go for it!

After reading fan reviews, I'd go with NeXus for anything 92mm or higher. What are your plans?

I was skeptical about Panaflos at first too.

Then I bought a couple Vantec "Stealths".

Stealth? Yeah, if the Vacuum cleaner is on.

I then bought some 80L Panaflos and have never looked (listened) back.

Do yourself a favor. Spend the $5 extra. You (and your ears) will be glad you did.

Mounting Zalman 7000a on an A64 Mobile

I'm putting together an AMD 64 Mobile system and have the Zalman 7000a. The only question I have is regarding the backplate - do you or do you not take off the cardboard that is stuck to the plate? I thinking yes, but want to make sure since I haven't seen any documentation regarding this. Any respo...

Hey, take it or leave it.

I just bought a 200GB Seagate this past weekend.

If it breaks, hopefully I'll get a 500GB drive 4 years from now.

Free data recovery? YEAH RIGHT. That is way too expensive vs. the price of the disk.
