I don't wanna recommend any suggestions, because if I recommend a fan that doesn't cool as well, it could f*** up your expensive system. Not something I want on my conscience. The 92mm Nexus theoretically blows as much as the slowest fan listed on Nidec's site. Panaflo 92mm L1A blows as much as the ...

Would a 430 be able to power a "modern" gaming PC over the next 3 years (warranty length)? I plan on upgrading to SLI capability at some point but the 12V amps are so much below recommended minimum that it really does make me feel concern, particularly for the future and particularly if I have to o...

Re: What is the quietest case fan?
Vantec Stealth 80mm Enermax Adjustable Speed 80mm Panaflo FBA08A12H1BX 80mm This is sacriligeous to say on SPCR, but of the list you've given, 80mm Vantec Stealth is the quietest. This isn't to say that there aren't better options if you look around, but that's my recommendation if you plan on limi...

Unfortunately, I had already read all of them and was unable to draw any specific conclusions. Generally I noticed a LOT about wattage and NOT a lot about amperage. I understand that the total wattage required to power my system could easily be handled by 430 watts, but it's really all about the 12...

I'm about as geeky as they come computer-wise, and although I have 3 optical drives, they're all in different computers. It's generally been my experience that you don't need more than 2 optical drives, and very often, you don't even need 2. With 2 drives, you can do a straight drive-to-drive copy. ...

Sorry to say, but Dell usually engineers their computers quite well. If they could make it quiet, they would. Stories of people with lower powered Dells have mentioned that they were somewhat quiet. If you want to quiet your Dell, you'll have to do a lot more than simply swapping fans. Heatsink repl...

We kinda do now. You can see it in most of the recent pictures on this site, and we even have it on a computer case already.
Now all we need are T-shirts.
We could probably do with a mascot though... assuming Miss Kitty isn't up to it,

the case itself is a lian li v1100, which comes standard with damped sidepanels. so it shouldn't be really vibration-prone. poorly damped sidepanels != vibration-noise prevention. FWIW, unsuspended Samsungs can vibrate and rattle damped STEEL cases. Thin Aluminum cases don't stand much of a ...

Or do you just jam the snips in the punchout as much as you can and try to start the first cut? As much of a scissor jamming fan I am, this doesn't seem like the right way. That's pretty much what I did, though I DID have enough room to put in the tip and take small snips at first. If you don't hav...

I read the poll as the thing you desire most to the exclusion of everything else. Meaning if you could only have one thing on that list and everything else taken away, which one would you have? For me, a long healthy life would be empty without family and friends. It would also be quite dull without...

To all of you who have made something similar, do you guys do anything to protect those leads from touching the case? I've made a few of these. Though this veers on off-topicness, I have to point out that if you value your equipment or data on it, consider getting a Series-Mode surge protector. I do not recommend using an ATX v1.3 PSU for your setup. Most setups these days really utilize the 12V line, and v1.3 was sometimes weak in that area. That said, I don't think you're drawing an exceptional amount of power, so your current PSU may still fit the bill. Knowing that much, the PSU is alm...
