I use a long plastic extension on the vacuum cleaner and I can clean up the case in probably 30 seconds. I try my best not to touch any circuitry. I've never had a problem with stability or ruining any of the electronics. As for the dust, my only concern is if it builds up on the fans or CPU heatsin...

Finally, some people are seeing the light! Thank you guys :) I've been firm believer in the low resistance, low fan speed, low noise technique. - A stock LX-6A19 case setup has 8 restriction pieces. These include 1 front bezel, 1 filter, 2 case grills, 2 fan holders, 1 finger guard, and 1 PSU grill....

Hey Katana Man I have been looking for a case with good airflow and to be quiet also; so I saw your mod you did with the CompuCase LX-6A19 and knew that I had to have that case.I have a few questions about it. 1. Where did you buy the case from and how much is it? also 2. I really like the mesh fro...

My feelings have changed on air filters. I now feel that they are unecessary. Let's face it, computers will get dust in them. It's not the end of the world. I don't know about you guys, but I have to go inside my computers (to replace a card, upgrade, or whatever else) a couple of times per year. Na...

That was my first impression too. I know how fans can have a little kickback when they are up against some resistance. But this wasn't the case this time. The fan was definately installed wrong. Pictures of other Forton FSP350's confirmed my suspicion. Sure enough, when I took it apart, the fans air...

Fortron FSP350-60PN came with the fan reversed

I just picked up a Fortron FSP350-60PN from newegg, and the fan is reversed! It's sucking air from the back of the case and blowing air into the case. Not sure how quality control missed that one.

To go dual 120mm in the front or back, generally means you're moving away from mid tower cases into full tower cases. The Lite-On FS020 from coolcases.com might be a good choice for you. Watch out for negative air pressure. Negative air pressure will fight your PSU air flow. Personally, I'd recommen...

Yeah, what a steal this case is. For $39 base price, you get a case that's designed for excellent dual 120mm air flow, isolated hard drive mounts, and a PSU to boot! I've bought many LX-6A19's and hope that they continue to sell well.

This is my recommendation:
Get any variation of the CompuCase 6A19 and then modify the front bezel for low air flow resistance, like this:

Unless you need a full tower, I'd recommend the LX-6A19 over this 6919. The 6A19 has room for two 120mm fans, whereas the 6919 only has room for one. The 6A19 also allows you remove both side panels. I was able to install sound dampening material in both sides. See this review: http://www.silentpcre...

Yeah, I hear ya. Computers can certainly heat up rooms. Technically speaking, the CPU will kick out x amount of watts depending on what your CPU load is. A good heatsink will trick you into thinking that your CPU isn't putting out a lot of wattage, but in reality, the heatsink is just moving the hea...

krage, If you take the side panel off of your case and see a significant drop (4-5 degrees) in temperature, then it's more likely an airflow problem in and out of the case and not your SilenX 92mm. Another quick test would be to swap out the SilenX 92mm for something faster. Both tests are cheap and...

I just upgraded to an Athlon 64 3200+ and I'm using a Thermalright SLK-948U. With a Panaflo 92mm fan at 6V, it's quiet and I'm running around 35.5 - 39C at idle. I'm very happy with the speeds and temperature. When the XP-120 heatsink comes out, I'll be upgrading.

Yep, that's just about the only way you can truly isolate it - if the screws don't touch the case.

I have built hundreds of computers in my past, and the cases with dual 120mm fans are by far the quietest I've built. 80mm fans tend to have a higher "whiney" pitch. Not only that, but the use of 120's have produced cooler running components. My technique (which many people are scared to do), is to ...

You just pull, and the fans come off pretty easily. This makes them reusable.

Yes, you should get at least one, if not two 120mm fans. Since you've dedicated some funds for a nice machine and case, I'd suggest to do the same and not skimp on quality fans. I'd recommend two Papst 4412 120mm fans, and run them around 5-6 volts. Check out my signature link to see a similar setup.
