A 32 bit OS like vista has 4GB address space available. In this space all available RAM is mapped, therefore if you have 4GB ram, the address space is completely used. However: A lot of hardware uses memory addresses for memory mapped IO. The hardware claims a piece of this address space. If the cpu...

The source of the interference could be your cable that you use to transport the data. If that one is lying close to a power cable of such a thing, "strange things" like interference could happen. Further more, I don't know if it is possible to power 2 display devices if vga cards are running crossf...

Asus P5K3 -> DDR3
Asus p5k -> DDR2

So if you want asus, go for the p5k series.
DDR2 is a lot cheaper, and performance is almost the same.

I always use asus bords, and they do never disappoint me.

I don't have any clue about the problem or the solution but there is one thing which you can change which isn't 100% correct if you ask me. The spin up time from 1 hard disk is at least 10 seconds, as long as it takes to bring the drives up to full rpm. The huge power draw from the spin up continues...

I always make sure that the cooling is OK, so no components did die of heat. But there were a lot of so called high quality components which didn't survive before the warranty period was over.
Now I pay more for stuff with more warranty, because warranty has saved me hundreds of euro's.

Don't forget, the fan is for the cooling of the PSU. Slower fans often produce less air-flow, and with that less cooling. Without enough cooling the PSU can overheat, so be careful, it's not only the noise a fan makes, but also the airflow which is important. But the fan installed should be able to ...
