Re: Help needed replacing a Synology DS412+ fans
Welcome to SPCR ! As far as 92 mm fans go, I've used : - Noctua fans : didn't like them (they tend to hum with resistance on the intake side) - arctic cooling (with the separate frame) : very good at lower speed, but thicker that usual - Nexus : very good at low speed, an SPCR favorite (look up the ...

hii frenchie, A few post above you had mentioned about my selected card having tight fin spacing . I had read a few reviews on that card and all were suprised on how well the included heatsink could keep the card cool even on max load and i am not a gamer ,i just need the card 2/3 times a day to ru...

Re: TOTALLY fanless, caseless, wireless, pretty powerful & s
Sorry about that. Let me rephrase : The power calculator (at pcpartpicker) says my system should pull around 400 Watts, but the power draw that I measured in real-life at the plug at full load was 330 Watts (a 20% difference). In your case, your real power value is probably closer to 120 Watts at fu...

Re: TOTALLY fanless, caseless, wireless, pretty powerful & s
1) hard question... depends... as close to the room temperature as you can get it (the smallest temperature increase you can achieve given your requirements). Or you can say that as long as it doesn't throttle, you are fine. 3) a case might help the cooling, even without a fan. The natural flow of a...

Re: TOTALLY fanless, caseless, wireless, pretty powerful & s
Fanless is a nice concept, but in reality... a slow fan that you cannot hear will make all the difference. Now, if you're doing it for the "cool" factor of having a fanless build, why not. If you live in a place that gets hot in the summer, you'll need to monitor the temps carefully when temps start...

You are saying it's white but you are not showing pictures of the outside of the case... No matter what, all dust is grey and your case is going to end up grey, just like the much faster black cases.

thanks CA_Steve, nice to see an attempt at a slightly different design. Issues I see : - fans pull air through the fins : fan suck at pulling (no pun intended) - no frames on the fans : my experience with those (Arctic Cooling fans) has shown that unless they push air through the restriction, they a...

I'm no expert but I don't see why it couldn't be done... if it wasn't for the ATX standards ;) see page 12 : http://www.formfactors.org/developer%5Cspecs%5Catx2_2.pdf (Expansion Slot connector locations is a requirement, not a recommendation, see page 11) I really like the ft-02 layout, and the powe...

Or you could get any fan you want and plug it in your MB, or your PSU Molex connector :) Like MikeC said, a gold PSU will not spit out a lot of heat... I replaced a bad Enermax fan with a Noctua fan, plugged it in a molex connector with the LNA adaptor, and I couldn't be happier. The air that comes ...

Re: CORRECT WAY TO INSTALL A CPU COOLER
A bit late, but Welcome to SPCR !
I would install it blowing towards the back if you can (check clearance first). Then the heat is exhausted right away, instead of warning up your case.
To clean the CPU, use rubbing alcohol, 99%.
