It is a shame in way that Zalman abandoned the TNN just before the low power processors and graphics cards started to appear. Had they waited a little longer and updated their compatible component lists they would probably have sold a lot more units. Trouble is, now that there are so many efficient...

I was able to find a new XFX HD4770-YDFC for my upcoming HTPC rig. This card seems to be the highest performer that still has component video output. I'm interested in the most silent cooling solution for this card in HTPC. I do not game at all, and have a full size case with lots of room. Both my ...

Hmmm, the TX950 has a long story of incompatibilities probably due to minimum load restrictions. It basically only excels in efficiency and power. Surely not the best platform to base your flagship line on... oh common just give them a chance.. Corsair psu's fans can spin up to 2000RPM, but that doe...

Do you already have the S1 on hand? If not, you should really consider getting a TwinTurbo Pro instead. Costs just a bit more, and comes with two excellent PWM fans that you can control via the 5870 fan header. Plus, it's smaller, easier to mount and probably better performing than the S1 with a sin...

It surely is the best and cheapest option. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to salvage them from  Something like this? Can be ordered with only two pins, if needed. It's from an Italian site, tend to get lost in there, hope you find the mating part. https://www.distrelec.it/ishop/Images...

Well, saying it is on par with those marvels is just idiotic, but it's a good performer nonetheless. I recommend everyone not to buy Thermaltake-branded stuff though. By the way, 1900 RPM on a 14cm fan is some truly gargantuan movement of air, not something to market as "quiet innovation"....

This is so great, congratulations on brilliantly overcoming the biggest design flaw this case has: video card cooling. Don't even think about running that card passively, GPU temperatures will be OK but the VRMs will overheat. However, I can't stop thinking about how much dust will be in ther...

In need of 2-pin headers: where to buy them?
Hello, I need a few pairs of male-female 2-pin fan headers to create some ready-to-use resistors, does anyone know where I can buy them? If you have some and are willing to part with them, please get in touch too.
Thanks!
Thanks!

It's made to fit a HD5970, there's no need to feel betrayed by the whole ITX concept if you don't need one. These are great times for ITX enthusiasts: you can either get an astonishingly small and frugal PC, or a full-featured, quad core, dual GPU gamer dream machine, and any combination in-b...

This kind of defeats the purpose of 9/10ths of this case's solutions. I think it will be much better with a large flat heatsink used passively, such as a Noctua C12P, Cogage MST-140 or Scythe Grand Kama Cross. I think this last one will particularly look good in there. By the way, what's the duct di...

The Mini P180 has a slide door on the separating wall, all you have to do to draw air from the bottom-mounted PSU (and retain its passive operation) is to keep it open. It's a really nice case to live with, I chose it to host my main PC, but keep in mind it is roughly the size of a mid-tower even th...

Best review EVAH. And that means a lot as I always considered SPCR ones to be the best EVAH.
Though you lost an occasion to bash a little more on the Thermaltake badge. Did you forget this one? http://www.silentpcreview.com/article240-page1.html

Random answers down here. :D @dickiefunk: If you find the PSU to be the noisiest part in your pc, and have the cash, then the Modu87+ might be a good choice. @MikeC: No, it's not that bad. You may not have received one as it's gone out of production pretty soon due to having a sale price too close t...

I really think you won't find any difference. Your PSU is already among the quietest and most efficient units you can find. The Value 430 is quiet but has worse cabling, is inefficient, ugly and less reliable. The Modu87+ is really good in almost every way (I don't like the "bling") but disgustingly...

What cpu are you using? The first step should be lowering its voltage if it's not an e-class one. A better PSU will also definitely improve heat buildup, yours looks low quality. You don't have to go for the gold ones, any 80+ unit will improve your situation. If you don't need to get a video card, ...

Okay, so if I ignore my heat question. I'm looking for a quiet PSU ~500W to go in th Antec Fusion Case. Looking at the SPCR recommended list: The Nexus Value 430 is too small. The nightjar may be undersized, and is hella-expensive for the size. The NX-5000 gets poor reviews in enough places that I'...

The 5770 can use 3 monitors at once, but one of them must be connected on Displayport. Anyway, if you want something silent, get a 5770 Vapor-X, if you feel you don't need that power then there's the 5750 Vapor-X which is just as quiet but a bit cheaper. Get the 1GB version if you need 3 monitors. I...
