that is what i was going to suggest, it's called dynamat.

id stay away from a nforce4 chipset as they use active cooling on the chipset that can be loud. the new ULi board (or Via) uses passive cooling on the north/south bridges. You have to realize that you're going to get some noise with a system that powerful. Those games you mentioned do not need a sys...

thats a really nice case.. how are temps? and what hardware are you running?

The lack of an intake fan (or so it seems) concerns me. especially w/ HDTV becoming more mainstream more powerful components are required in a HTPC.

HTPC Cases

I am surprised (maybe even shocked) that HTPC cases are not a bigger subject here considering their intended use. Although I am fairly new to the forums sections (I've been reading articles for a good year now). Maybe this has been covered before? I have a couple questions.. 1. I would love to see m...

The iRam is powered throught the pci slot even when the computer is off (as long as it is plugged in). The battery is only used when the computer is unplugged. Anandtech Review I think he meant with all power (power outage) off ;) also, another space saving idea. Change the size of the recycle bin ...

i just got my antec p150 and the sticker is also broken. To boot, i think they broke the front bezel, the front right corner is snapped off on the trim piece but there is NO (ZERO) indication of damage on the exterior box. This can only tell me that it was broken OUTSIDE the box, and I definately DI...

memory heat sinks are not even required! :)

mine are still sitting in the box, idle 43c, load 52c 6600gt @ 550/1100 8)

now i realize the gpu temps do not indicate mem temps, but there's no artifacts in any game i play and the stock cooler wasn't even close to making physical contact w/ them.

Thank you so much everyone! Mike_P: The Zalman solutions seem quite respectable, however I really can't ignore the benefits of evacuating the video card's heat directly out of the case - I think my wholemachine will be happier with that. very true, but dont forget the NV silencer's are smaller fans...

Re: P180 done my way :-)

Under non-gaming duty, the rear/top fans never even fire up, which is a nice feature of the AN8-Ultra motherboard. The Zalman 7700 seams to do a sufficient job of cooling all motherboard components under light duty. Now the only audible component in the system is the VF700 cooling my video card. Ne...

This is actually not needed. passive w/ no heat sink works fine on my 6600gt. I've actually seen roundups where no HS at all on the mem chips yielded the best o/c, lol!

660gt man!

Get a 6600gt (EVGA) and a Zalman VF700cu. powerful card for $150 ish CDN, $40 for VF700. Quiet too boot! dispite what some people say, the vf700 does work on the agp 6600gt, the secret is to make sure the card has a seperate Heatsink for the HSI chip (which is why i said to get a eVGA). The ram sink...
