You will initially cringe when hearing this, but the heatpipes in the Accelero S2 can be pretty easily bent - just make a gentle curve so the cooler arcs instead of going straight up. Some general advice: the FX5600 AGP card is completely unsuited to HTPC use - it is too hot, too underpowered and is...

Coolerguys just got a shipment of these in (I just picked one up this afternoon). The sound of the 1450RPM model is very pleasing to the ears (albeit not completely silent). I'm going to drop it in my WHS system (because of the high MTBF of the dual ball bearing) at 12V.

Even more interesting would be Atom 330 + 9400M combination with GigE, 2-4 SATA ports, 2 SODIMM slots and a PCIe x1 slot. It could be a WHS system or a media center or an email / web browser system. No room on a Pico-ITX. No point for a reference board. Make production version a Mini-ITX or Micro-A...

There's always the upcoming Nvidia MCP79chipset for the Atom which should be low powered (3W idle, 14W full load w/ IGP). Specs look to be pretty nice (including HDMI 1.2). Now if it has more than 2 SATA ports and GigE, it could be a fabulous platform for WHS.

Would have been much more interested in a review of the Micro Fusion 350 since it is visually more appealing than the Max. 780G ig great, but then ur stuck with AMD cpu, intel gives more room for undervolting and cooler systems. The undervolting thing is debatable. In terms of power consumption, a 4550 + Intel chipset + Intel CPU > 780G motherboard + AMD CPU. And for HTPC tasks, they do the exact same thing, exactly th...
