Re: What’s the difference between these two Hitachis?

I don't know about faster. It's SATA-6Gbps though but that doesn't mean anything.

That's not a 7K500, it's a Z7K500. The ZxK disks are slimmer, only 7mm thick.

According to users, the regular version is far from quiet, I wouldn't expect this one to be different just because it's 80Plus Gold instead of Bronze.

Intel 320 s 8 MB bug was a disaster, together with the revision B2 chipset bug and the crippled X79 in less than a year Yes all troubling. But I still trust Intel more than the others. So, basically, you're saying that you'd prefer to buy a possibly defective product from a company with good suppor...

If you overclock your 6570 by 150MHz in the core clock speed, you have a 6670.

But the GDDR5 versions are still faster :P

Thing is, Z77 doesn't need a fan. Neither does X79, probably.

And even if, there are these things called... heatpipes.

This is just a bad, bad trend. It needs to die, quickly.

Re: Warning to all SPCR members: do not buy the WD10EALX

I have replaced two quiet WD5000AAKB-00YSA0 with two WD10EALX-009BA0 that have a firmware date of Jan-31-2012 this past weekend, and the two WD10EALX are not louder than the WD5000AAKB that they replaced. Re: Low power GPU for a little gaming?

According to Techpowerup:

HD 5670 --» 14W (idle), 53W (load), 65W (Furmark)
HD 7750 --» 5W (idle), 43W (load), 43W (Furmark)

The HD 7750 is roughly twice as powerful as your HD 5670. It's $110 USD on average, or $125 for the passive Sapphire.
