Somehow, I don't find them particularly cheap. Once I add shipping into account, it cost around $10 over here (UK).

By the time I buy 3 of them, I can get a Sunbeam Rheobus Fan Controller. Which is looking more attractive now to be honest.

Oh ya, I've heard of the HD-280. Never tried them before, closed they are. Not too sure what the cheapo earphones you are refering to could be though. The EX71 (and 81?) are isolating-ish, but they are kinda in-between earphones and IEMs IMO. Other Sony earphones I've tried were clearly open. (Not t...

I do not, however, play it excessively loud: both my circumaural "huge" headphones and cheapo $12 Sony earphones block sounds quite well. The circumaurals are obviously better at it, but when my six-year-old earphones finally gave out and I got the Sonys, I distinctly noticed that they sounded "lou...

Do you know what is the wattage a 12cm Yate Loon/Nexus by any chance? I've not bought the fans yet.

Can the Fan Mate 2 handle more than one fan?

I was wondering if I could use a cable splitter with a Fan Mate 2 to control two 12cm Yate Loon. And would this be one of the more economical but also easy to setup option (without getting my hands dirty)?

Cheers.

Not all the drives you are looking for, but might be useful for reference (scroll to the bottom for noise reading).

If the new Samsung follows the step of the older ones, then it looks like the most silent one.

Looks like a winner from a performance point of view.

But I hope it is not true about the PCI slot though. If you are serious enough to run the board in crossfire mode, you will most likely also want a gaming sound card...

@derekva & Erssa: Indeed I have read positive things about the Asus A8R-MVP. However, I think it is also fair to say that nVidia lead when it comes to experience in chipset design. There are quite a few iterations from the Nforce1 to the current 16x SLi - and even though they aren't all for the same...

Ah well.. Looks like the retailer I was shopping from made the decision for me: I asked them to hold my order of the Premium until I investigate the differences. And they did... for a day. I have the Premium with me now... This saved me some $40 + electricity, but I wonder whether I traded a signifi...

I disagree 100% with the x-fi post. many people who review it, including andandtech, did not see either a boost in gaming performance or in subjective sound quality. That is what a sound card is meant for, therefore, 2zs Audigy is a more sensible purchase I feel. ( have it, it's insanely good and c...

Wow.. Significant price difference for the Ninja.

In the UK you can almost replace the $ with a £ sign for the Ninja.

It comes to about $55. The Zalman come to about $65.

Thanks. How about the devices? Do they make the difference between eSATA and SATA? I have a HD caddy with a SATA port. Nowhere on the package does it say it is eSATA, but I've never seen anything labeled as eSATA. That is the main (and only) device I have right now which I think might benefit from e...

Similar to the 2nd question above: Would the Nexus @ 12V provide enough cooling for a overclocked dual core AMD CPU, or would the Yate Loon be better? I read the difference between the two, and it seems they are basically the same, with the Yate Loon spinning faster (more peace of mind, but not sure...

I believe it is regular SATA: After lots of reading around, I saw this: http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/03/23/asus_a8n/page4.html What do you mean by robustness of the connection? The cables? In a way, it is interesting to see that the Premium has more SATA ports (8) than the 32-Deluxe (5+1). Not t...

A quick update: It would appear that the Ninja will be replaced by the Ninja Plus sometime in the future. According to Scythe's Japanese site, the current model, the SCNJ-1000 has been discontinued , and a new model has been put up in its place, the SCNJ-1000 P . As far as I can tell, the only diff...

I find it strange to hear the price difference between the Zalman and Ninja highlighted so often. From the prices I've seen, the 9500 is about £5 more expensive than the Ninja. Throw in a Nexus, and the Ninja combo will cost about £7 more than the 9500. Even if I get a Yate Loon on Ebay, the cost ad...

Black P180 Availability

I just read one of the review on this site, and it says at the end: The Black version P180 will be exclusive to the SPCR brand until after the end of 2005. Does that mean that the black P180 is altogether discontinued after 2005, or does it simply mean that it will revert to the Antec brand? I notic...

I would like to add that the 600W is a mere 10% more expensive than the 500W version.

I am deciding between those two boards as well.

The Premium does seem like it has more space around the CPU.

But I am enticed by the 32-Sli's better OC potential.

Would the Scythe Ninja be hard to fit on the 32-SLI?

S12-430 does not have a PCIe power adaptor. If you want to run a 7800GT, you'll need to use an adaptor that takes up 2 molex plugs. Is the adaptor provided with the PSU? I didn't know that PCIe requires its own power connector (never owned a PCIe system before). Are those adaptors bulky? I am also ...

At the moment, I'll have to lean towards the Asus.
