it's funny because my WD800JB (80b 7200rpm IDE) create more vibrations...but it works just fine regardless of the vibrations, but this WD800JB is used to backup stuff, so i don't really care for vibrations on this one. another funny thing is on ther Western Digital website, they don't talk about vib...

Badger - sorry for not responding to your question. I've only just gotten around to revisiting this thread... I've been procrastinating on the drive enclosure and haven't purchased one yet :( . The more I read on the Nexus, the less sure I am about it. I'm now thinking of trying the Smartdrive 2002...

i noticed a "rumble" noise coming from the hard disk sometimes. is that another "unwanted noise" from that hard disks line? (the SATA "JS" line from Western Digital)? anyone tried a "JS" Western Digital SATA drive inside a Drive-A-Way or a SmartDrive 2002c yet? cos i'm really looking to buy that Dri...

i tried another way today, by using the clothing elastics to hold the hard disk in place on the big bath sponge, but i could hear the hard disk whine more than before, so i turned back to the clothing elastics suspensions only, with the big piece of bath foam at the bottom (at around half-centimeter...

i have a Western Digital WD2000JS SATA drive, and yes it's doing vibrations...not even the rubber grommets from the Sonata II hard disk rails can absorb that. i got tired and decided to try suspending it with clothing elastics...in a 3.5" slot, not in a 5.25" slot right now i can hear it whine somet...

i don't plan in transporting this computer anyway... i replaced regular rubber bands by clothing elastics, nearly 1 inch wide. but my Sonata 2 case i have is a bit tricky, you have to use the lower compartment so you can put an elastic and push it more inside the case to support the front weight of ...

hi there! i have a few questions i have a Sonata 2 case. i've put my hard disk on the lower part of the case, i used 3 long rubber bands in my case AND i used a bath sponge under it, with a layer of "wrapping foam" on top of it just in case. the 3 rubber bands support the hard-disk and touch that la...
