Thanks for the tip. I read online somewhere the 7600gs draws up to ~30W (that's why i got it), but i can't really test it. Odd thing is that the previous power supply is rated lower on 12v than the pico, and i thought pci express draws mostly 12v (i might be wrong). I tried running the hdd and the 4...

going from cheap enhance to pico-psu120

Hi, I have a cheap enhance power supply on my athlon mobile 2800+/geforce 7600gs system, rated 3.3v - 7A 5.0v - 12A 12v - 5A -12v - 0.3A 5vsb - 0.8A I try to replace that with a picopsu120. I have a Dell brick rated 12.5A @ 12v. the pico psu is rated 5v - 8A 3.3V - 6A 12V - 7A -12V - 0.05A 5vsb - 1....

Ok, so how does one get this secondary 4pin power supply (with the yellow and black lines) if one uses a 20pin supply? (i think this is relevant as general faq, because some of the quiet psu's, i.e. picopsu, should be able to power "normal" systems) EDIT: found it, googling "Pentium 4 12 Volt ATX Ad...

frostedflakes: The Delta 150w bricks are very cheap on eBay, I believe I picked mine up for about $25 including shipping. Search for part number 3R160, it should bring up the Dell/Delta bricks. http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=28246&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30 got that; from eb...

Quick question. Which integrated boards are better. The ones based on the Nvidia Geforce 6150 chipsets or ones based on ATI's integrated solution? i once found some review that said that the nvidia is a little faster; but i wanted tv-out on mobo; and only the 6150 and xpress200 (not the 6100) some ...

Ok, i got the brick to work. First off, with my somewhat crude approach of smelting all cables onto the tiny plug and then using electric tape i broke the little green wire (only has two tiny rails). So, with my new radioshack mutlimeter i played around and couldnt get it to work; suddenly another a...

i grounded the green wire, (I hope that means i connect it to the two ground wires - was it black/white), I connected the three with the casing and the otehr two with the middle plug. its a little bit of a mess because the cables are so big and the plug is so small - i just electrical tape to shield...

this whole brick plus dc-dc deal seems like a good idea ... but unlike other people i have not been able to find 120W ac-dc adapters with decent prices. I'd like to build a pentium-M board with a geforce 7600gs; does anybody think i could power something like that with 80 Watts? how much do hdds and...
