Well, I got mine in - they don't go around the ear, in spite of the photos and being called "circumaural". Maybe I just have really big ears (call me Dumbo).
Anybody want mine? Package opened, tried on once, not otherwise used. $20 plus actual shipping

If you're going to go with fan-driven watercooling, why not a thermochill radiator? They're designed to work with low pressure axial fans. Yes, you then have to deal with separately buying a pump, water blocks, tubing, maybe a reservoir and then installing all this. But you can get all that cooled. ...

19W idle was one of the factors in my decision to buy a 7600GS card. I've read that it's somewhat straightforward to overclock a 7600GS to 'GT', although I haven't tried - but that would imply that it might also be straightforward to underclock a 'GT' to 'GS' so as to get the lower idle power consum...

Swapping one wall wart for another is pretty easy - just make sure the replacement has the same - plug size - plug polarity - output type (AC or DC) - voltage - wattage (it's OK to have more wattage than the one you're replacing) "Switching type" wall warts tend to be more efficient, although they'r...

Are all the grommets that seem melted on the same hard drive? What about the other grommets you got with this case - even the ones you've never used? This sounds like improperly cured silicone, and I'd at least email Antec, telling them I thought that I might have faulty grommets and see if they'd r...

I just bought two 150s - and the black ones, at least, come without power supplies (which was what I wanted because I like the Seasonic PSs better than the Antec ones - even though Seasonic builds most of the Antec ones these days). So... maybe the point of a different case line was to enable it to ...

and you want alu because...?
Why aluminum? You do realize that you'll need to run corrosion inhibitor in your coolant even if you have only aluminum contacting it? Or is this a weight issue? Looking at alu-to-air heat transfer efficiency? As I remember, coolant-to-cu is enough better to compensate, but I can't remember the spec...

Well sure - but you can get reasonable results from just about any external receiver coupled with decent speakers. There's something called "coil lacquer" that was used by old-timey TV repair shops to quiet coil whine. No idea if it's still available. note - coils are OK with running hot, so don't worry about reducing cooling - if you're thinking about doing this for a CRT, and don't already have an idea what pa...

Well, don't use a 1280, then. Pump models vary in noise output - just like fans - only the noise includes inaudible vibration that can cause resonance. I could arbitrarily pick a fan (or fan and heatsink combo), try hard to make that noisy fan quiet and use that experience to argue that air-cooling ...

I use the "gel stuff" from Petra's Tech Shop (great stuff). But - before I vibration isolate, I put the running pump in direct contact with the case, and mass-load everything that vibrates. That way, the vibration that "leaks through" and some will - if only through your tubing - won't generate nois...

There's also the issue of how "bouncy" the material is ("hysteresis" means "not bouncy"). The made-to-damp materials, like dynamat, are high hysterisis - and they don't just change the resonant frequency of the sheet metal they've been bonded to, but also convert vibration to heat. Possibly more of ...

You could also try Elemental Designs eDead.
It's really easy to work with: cut to shape with scissors, peel the backing off, lay into place, rub your hands around on it so it's all adhered.

I think the first question might be: "does the Laing D5T work OK with PWM?". Reservoirs also allow more liquid to circulate, and therefore, dropping temps slightly over longer periods of time. Sorry but no. BTW, the HPPS "Plus" pumps are set up so you can change the pump frequency. You might think about making each drive-cooling sideplate out of a plate of copper, up to, say, a quarter-inch thick. Well, if you really feel the need to use an 110VAC pump, have a look at the Eheim 1046. They're dead silent (there is some vibration, but less than the hydors, actually) and provide more than enough flow/head for what you're doing. The difference is that the 1046 has really good reliability. I've pu...
