The drive is actually going to go in a desktop. I currently have about 120gigs of photos/music I want to put on there so 80gigs of overhead would be great. I can always move everything to a 300+ gig drive down the road.

I have a S12-430 I bought last summer. The instuction manual claims it has 2 floppy power connections. Newegg claims it has 2 floppy power connections. The SR review say it has 2 floppy connections. Either I've gone batty or this thing has 0 floppy power connections on it. Can anyone help me out?! D...

Thanks for the great work in this area. Is it possible to overclock at all with RMClock? I was thinking about getting a Core 2 Duo Mobile chip instead of the desktop for added power savings.

So I assume then it would like ECC ram. I know some boards you can put in ECC ram, but then the board doesn't actually utilize the ECC part. I don't want to spend the cash and then have no benefit.

A little bump for this thread here. On the original stats, the ASRock 775Dual-VSTA is running a CD2 correct? I just want to make sure as the Duo Core laptop motherboards are using a origina CD right? I guess I was looking at going to the mobile side to save power, especially when I wasn't using much...

So at the end of the day what's the verdict on these devices? It's about $425 to get it loaded with 4GB of RAM. I was going to use it for a Photoshop scratch disk and my SAS work directory. It may be better just to load up 4 gigs of RAM on my motherboard and go with a Raptor instead...
