It's not THAT cold in here... 68 maybe. In any case, I'm trying to find my original box. I guess Antec won't take it back under warranty without it. If I can't find it, then I'm going to have to crack it open and see what I can find.

TruePower 430 fans not spinninng
Hi-
I was about to RMA my SS400 so I went to put my old TruePower 430 in my case. I hooked everything up and it booted no problem. However, the two fans in the PS aren't spinning at all. Is there anything stupid I should check before RMAing this one back to Antec?
Thanks,
Chris

Pretty close actually
Well, according to Anandtech, the 1.5ghz Banias had a TDP of 24.5 watts. The 1.8 ghz A64 is 35W. If you put the A64 @ 1.5ghz, then it's under 30 already without any vcore drop. So I think it's REALLY close. You have to remember that the Dothan chips are .09 nano, so perhaps AMD can match that 21W fi...

Oh...
For the record, I got that off theinquirer.net....
Maybe one day there will be something. Even the 2.0ghz model eats like 25W right?

Yep
Most likely yes. I probably won't upgrade my box for at least another 6 months. I hope more A64 boards have decent mobile support. Hopefully the 90 nano chips from AMD can do something similiar.
Still, that's pretty amazing to me. That 10W chip is probably the same as a 2.0ghz PIV.

"The 738 is a 1.40GHz Pentium M with 2MB of cache, a thermal design rating of 10W, and costs $284."

I'll find one of my old extra loud PS and then RMA this one. About how long does it take?

Is my Rev2 SS RMAable?
Hi- I have a 400W SS Rev2 and it's definitely the loudest thing in my system. Here's what I have: IS7-G w/ Zalman heatsink on the HB ATI 9600 Non/Pro 1 gig memory 2.4c at default voltage w/ a Cu-7000 fan at 5V Samsung 1614N DVD burner 1 120mm L1A fan at 5V That's it... I'm not sure if that's loud en...

I finished up my new PC yesterday using pretty much the same things as Ralf. The loudest thing is my CPU fan... I'm using a CU7000 with a fanmate... it's running at 1500rpm and things are plenty cool. I'll have to give Ralf's a try and see if that's any better. The samsung drive also grumbles when i...

another question
It appears you cut between the two fan holes mounts because the original holes don't fit... is that correct? Jig saw?
Thanks again!

Ralf-
It looks like from the pics you just mounted the PS with standard case screws. Is that correct?
Thanks,

Excellent
Great, I'll pick one of those up. I'm pretty much using your setup except for a ATI 9600 non-pro and the 7000Cu CPU fan. Any idea where to get some elastomer fan mounts online? Couldn't find any at SVC... need to get some of the cable wrapping as well. Also, I don't see this explained any where else...

I was going to replace the Power supply and don't mind cutting the fans so I'll go with the AMB. Definitely can't WAIT to quite this full tower POS I have now. (No reason for the full tower... just had it left over.)

BQE versus AMB
I see there's two 3700's... Is one significantly different than the other? The BQE gets most of the chatter so I'm assuming that's the better silent case...

Hmmmm
Well, I know there's a subjective opinion on noise from HDD, but it appears to me the Samsung drive is still noisier than the IV with the new 7K250 even quieter according to storagereview.com... of course, the new Rapter is ridiculously quiet. http://www.storagereview.com/php/benchmark/bench_sort.ph...

Yea, I know I'd have to use the pen... hm. Is there like a touchpad that's any good? I'm just trying to find something that's the least annoying..
As scary as this sounds, I'm almost able to type normally on this crappy keyboard now.. wow.

I'm moving my home office in an open area that is unfortunately, quite close to the bedrooms... So, I've been forced to hook up two keyboards and use one of those awful rubber ones when my wife is sleeping (not a heavy sleeper..). Now I have to kill the mouse clicks and I'm looking to get a tablet. ...
