I always uninstall the current version before installing the new. All my bookmarks / extensions / etc. are retained. (Unless an extension does not work for a new version, then it says so in the Extension window.) I do get crashes in Firefox occasionally (not really any more / less after the update)....

I'm not too worried about not being able to use DIMM 1 on the AX8, as I am going to be using 2 512MB PC3200 Corsair Value Modules in Dimms 2 and 4. Does anyone know the compatibility issues (if they exist) with the XP-120 and the Soltek? I've read that the XP-120 fits Soltek's K8T800 Pro. Just by l...

Hmm.. That one looks good, as does the MSI RS480M2-IL, which supposedly has a 9600-like IGPU, which would be perfect for my needs. I've been looking into this board a little too. The articles I've seen said the graphics are similar to X300 SE. I don't know how this directly compares to a 9600, but ...

As you can tell I haven't played with undervolting/underclocking yet. The motherboard supposedly supports CnQ, but there don't appear to be any options in the bios for adjusting much. The user manual says it supports overclocking and the HTT looks adjustable, but that's about it (well there are som...

I read that neoseeker article on the X800 today. It's selling for $265 US at ZZF. Which is less than Gigabyte's passive 6800 is going for. Supposedly ATI's MSRP for the X800 is $200 US, though none of them are selling for that yet.

I went and checked the Logitech we have for the laptop downstairs. (Also part of a wireless combo.) When the mouse is moving over a surface, and the optical light is flashing, it makes the slightest, nearly inaudible buzz when it's quite close to my ear. When it's not moving, the optical light doesn...

New wireless optical mouse buzzes, ticks, whirrs, whines
I received my Benq X805 wireless keyboard & mouse combo today. Used it for a few hours. Keyboard seems fine. Mouse seems to function okay, but it makes all sorts of noises. Buzzing, ticking (with flashing optical light), high-low siren-like whine (with optical light flashing about the same rhythm).....

i have an asus a8n-sli deluxe and amd 3000+ winchester. the CnQ seems quite crude, idling at 1MHz and 1.075v, and under any stress, stepping up to the full 1.8MHz and 1.375v. i.e. it doesn't seem to be a smooth gradation. I found a thread on the nVidia forums where a few 6600GT (fanned and passive) users are complaining of load temps exceeding 90C. Directron has a couple, though they'd need the end hacked off. Unless they include the low-profile bracket as shown in Fabre's post. 9550 SE 128 and 9250 256.
Newegg has some FX5200s with similar design.

Why didn't you buy a Gigabyte 6600GT Turbo Edition(GV-NX66T128VP)? It would be the logical choice, since it comes with a heatpipe from the factory. I know you already bought something, but it seems as not everyone is aware of the existence of this card. It's not as available as the normal version, ...

If the cable can be removed and replaced, you can try with a different one and see it the problem can be fixed... But if it's the PCB, don't spend your time trying to repair it and get yourself a new monitor. If it's only 7 months old, you can RMA it without problem. Yep, it's already getting RMA-e...
