Yep, they're dead. At least the consumer arm anyway.

Do you already have the S1 on hand? If not, you should really consider getting a TwinTurbo Pro instead. Costs just a bit more, and comes with two excellent PWM fans that you can control via the 5870 fan header. Plus, it's smaller, easier to mount and probably better performing than the S1 with a si...

Thanks for the info guys, but...what's the difference between the two? 7 fins vs 9 fins, broad fins vs narrow fins? Do either one have a preferred function? i.e. case fan vs heatsink fan. @bozar I'll be hooking the fan up to my gfx card, and controlling the speed via software (MSI Afterburner, to be...

Scythe: Kama or Slipstream?

Looking at grabbing a PWM fan to use with Accelero S1/5870 combo, so I can control the fan via software. Was wondering what are the characteristics of each fan? A quick read of Fan Roundup 5 (which doesn't have the PWM Slipstream, but I assume its somewhere between the M and H models in terms of aco...

PM'd address. Just reiterating, I'm interested in how much shipping would cost for just the YL's, and for both Antec's and YL's together. I might not get the Antec's if they drive up shipping too much. Oh, and if PartEleven doesn't go through with purchase of the Phenom bundle, I might be interested...

I'm interested in the Yate Loons, how much would shipping be to Australia? And just asking, how much would shipping cost for all the fans (YL + Antec)? If shipping costs the same, I might grab them all.

Sorry, you're going to have to clarify. For your first post, your quoted price is for a single fan, or all those shown in photo? So, $10 for two Tricools, and $20 for five YL's?
Also, for your second and third post, I'm assuming you're selling them as bundles?

Most immersion systems I've seen consist of a fish tank full of cooking oil. For the average enthusiast, cooking oil is probably the most cost effective dielectric liquid you can have access to. Fascinating idea...perhaps I should try it myself. =] Where on earth did you get such a massive cardboard tube though? Also, just to note, technically I think your setup would be considered negative pressure, since the chimney causes air to be drawn in through air pressure difference. If you had fan...

As for PWM converter, you can get one off Dealextreme for $4.29USD shipped. Unfortunately, its just acting as a regular fan controller atm, I'm not sure if its becau...

PCCG only has a 50mm fan and a 140mm fan, neither of which are useful (to me). Good info on gammods though, they don't show up on Static Ice, so I never knew there was a store in Aus that stocked YL fans.

Hi Antakar, I'm with KayDat on the SSD being the "ultimate" solution but also potentially very expensive depending on how much capacity you need. Sounds like you want a silver bullet for your problems. Unfortunately, there is none, so you're going to have to compromise somewhere; change to quieter drives, have less drives, elastic mount, any of the above combinations, or just live with the noise. It's all about compromises, unfortunately, and...

Computer's clean, I transplanted my computer to a new case recently, which is why I've isolated the cause to either the mounting or aging HS design (maybe the baseplate is too thick?). I use fan filters anyway, so my computer is pretty much always dust free.

Well okay, I wasn't completely honest; these days, I'm finding that the fan has to spin up more, and when under load the temperature rises quickly, as if the cooler can't draw heat away quickly enough. I'm not sure if it's just the contact though; I've knocked the cooler a couple of times by acciden...

Why bother spending so much on Noctua fans when you're not aiming for quiet computing? That's gotta be over $120 of Noctua fans right there. Though tbh, I can understand three fans for the Accelero Xtreme, since it would still be quieter than stock, and you can slow down the fans. Though, judging fr...

No, not saying they're useless. As a matter of fact, I'm using four of them in my computer right now. It's just that they're very simple, and the acronyms are just fancy names Noctua gave to a cable with a resistor. Depending on your fans and motherboard, you can achieve the same thing with SpeedFan...

Wow, you can actually get the R5 cheaper than the R4 huh? well in any case, it won't fit, there's only round 12-14mm clearance between the card and the cooler. But man, the R5 is chunky. Almost as if Thermalright wanted to limit it to the Spitfire, since it would block a whole bunch of coolers. Edit...
