The Enermax Noisetaker 370W is worth considering. You can order it from Germany for around 500DKK and shipping is not very expensive. MikeC gave it an 8 in noise, so it must be pretty good.
http://www.fortknox.de just search for noisetaker and it will come up with 3 units from the series.

Good luck, but as burcakb I have also just supplied the fan with less than 5V and you will have a noticable decrease in noise. But the 5V (1350rpm) seems to be the "sweet spot" for the Zalman, meaning that you get very good cooling vs noise ratio. Dropping the voltage (and rpm of the fan) results in...

How fast does the 120mm Papst fan spin at 12V? I thought the slowest spinning Papst 120mm fan was the one they rate at 26dbjmke wrote:the XP-120 makes for a tight fit on my Asus P4C800 I'm using for testing, some capacitors are bend. My bet is it is no where near the spcr standards. First of all the PSU is not targeted for an audience who consider noise to be a con, and second of all it uses two fans, which almost no silent PSUs do (except maybe the Noisetaker). But if it has a high efficiency a simple fan swap could do the tric...

I have a SilenX 350W PSU myself, and it is indeed very quiet. They have great service, and it's a shame the way they acted here in the forums. I myself was "fooled" into buying one, even though I do not regret the purchase. However I think the SilenX PSUs are a bit pricey considering its only a modd...

Very interesting, thank you for the information. But this is still a very plausible effeciency, and a whooping 10% more than the Nexus NX-3500 tested. This could mean that the graphs from Nexus displaying that the fan of the NX-4090 runs at a lower rpm and takes long er to ramp up is true. Can you t...

PSU that's very quiet at idle?
I've just build a system for one of my friends, and since he came from using a laptop he is acustommed to very low noise. He wanted a powerfull gaming machine too, but wants it to be very quiet at night were it will be downloading. The system I built consists of the following: AMD64 3400+ Zalman CNP...

All the Coolermaster cases that I have looked inside have very restrictive fangrills, espescially the rear fan grill, which often is just a few holes that look like the blades of a fan, looks neat, but performs horribly. If you decide on Coolermaster be sure to cut out these and use a wiregrill inst...

I can tell you that the Papst 120mm fan that they rate at 26db runs at 1400rpm at 12V and goes down to 650rpm at 5V. EDIT: The Papst homepage states that it runs at 1600rpm @ 12V http://62.159.30.76/de/pdf/produkte/4412_FGL.pdf Maybe just my sample, the ASUS probe og the fancontroller that doesn't p...

On the SilenX website is says that the retailer may not have all the PSU in stock, but my guess is that you can get them to order one for you. The other option would be to order it from the US, although shipping will probably be more expensive, as well as the chance that it will get caught in customs.

Isn't the Cavalier Aluminium, atleast is is at my dealer. The back fangrill looks OK, but not as unrestrictive as the ones on the Anted cases. However I cannot see how the front fan is supposed to suck air in, seeing as there are not any visible openings in the front. This could result in very poor ...

Active cooling on the southbridge is a spcr nono, shame on you. Why not buy the Zalman passive cooler and cut it so it fits? I have a Papst 120mm fan, and was not impressed either with the fan at first. But the trick with this fan is that you do not run it at 12V. This is no problem for me since I b...

40-42 degrees is far from too high. I'm not sure about the maximum temperatures for the AMD64 CPUs, but for P4 and AthlonXP you are still safe when your CPU is 70 degrees (the AthlonXP can operate up to 90degrees and the P4 somewhere in the same region), and infact the P4 lowers its speed if you rea...

The looks are right on. If there is a version without a window is will actually look very stylish ala Coolermaster or Lian Li. If the external drivebays are hidden behind the aluminium plates this will be a killer looking case. From the looks and specs alone this looks like a great case for the LAN ...

If it's the right case depends very much on what you appriciate in a case. If you care about the looks and the size I would definately recommed the Sonata. Of course the airflow is superior in the SLK3700, but if you do not care too much about the last few degrees the Sonata is a good choice. The PS...
