13dB?! I may have bought the wrong drive! Just out of curiosity, how did you measure this; I thought your noise floor was about 18dB? Also, I note that WD's own specs only claim 29-34dB... I'm sceptical. :?: Edit: Another aspect: this drive costs DKK 1.900 ; the WD3200BEVT I mentioned above costs DK...

Hej Ziphnor, I've just bought a WD Scorpio WD3200BEVT 320Gb. I'm still waiting for it to be shipped, so I can't comment on the noise yet. It's a SATA 2 1/2" 5400rpm drive which should be quiet, especially since I plan on soft-mounting it (with rubber bands) in a P182. If you want to wait for it, I c...

if you gave us a clue about what hardware you have Me? What I have is a Fujitsu Siemens Scenic D1322 ... what I'm getting (when it finally ships, in about two weeks ) is a Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3R which is supposed to have a lot more hardware monitors. So, soon I should be able to make a lot more...

Depending on what else you've got going on inside your case, I'd say it should be pretty safe to run the disks as they are. If you put them close together, close to a "space heater" graphics card, or if you just plain prefer to be sure, then they may need additional cooling. Me, I'll be putting toge...

I also considered a Solo for the longest time, then ended up with a 182 instead. I haven't received it yet but boy , have I read a lot of reviews. :D Are you planning on putting a lot of disks in that lower chamber, or will the PSU have it all for itself? The PSU you've chosen has its own fan, so if...

Sorry for reviving/hijacking, but I wonder if it's possible to use a bolt-through kit for the HR-01 on an Intel socket? Specifically, I'm wating for delivery of a Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3R board, an Intel E8500 CPU, and an HR-01 ... but I too am a bit concerned for the angle and the weight. Do Intel bol...

Thanks for snapping me out of it, you're right of course: I should be content with just d-sub connectors; I was thinking too far ahead in an attempt at future-proofing. Having looked around I've found a passively cooled Asus EN8400GS . It costs about 1/3 of the Inno3D and doesn't require an S1 coole...

Thanks, that means I can put all my memory worries to rest. If the Inno3D Geforce 9600 GT Accelero S1M is too powerful, it's still a good price considering it includes the S1. For comparison, I've looked at an EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GS (384Mb) which, as far as I can tell, is the only board that's reall...

Finally, the parts are starting to settle down (see the first post in this thread). Hmm, maybe an Antec Nine Hundred? It's got plenty of storage space, and is well within your price margin.
I don't know if it will accommodate an IcyDock, but from review pics it may be no or very little work.
Just a thought.

Well my guess is that the seek movements are causing the drive to wobble about, and that's causing issues. Looking at your suspension, it seems possible that it's see-sawing and possibly also rotating. I don't know if you have room to do this: http://www.silentpcreview.com/files/images/P150_review/f...
