Nexus 120mm onto Zalman 7700AlCu
How are you guys doing this? I haven't have a closer look yet, but I can see after I take the Nexus off its square frame that there will be very little left. The 4 spokes are very thin (should i do away with those as well) and the actual circle bith with the motor is what to small to drill into and ...

Antec Smartpower 2 - has anyone replaced both fans yet?
Surley if you replace them both with silent fans the PSU itself becomes silent right? :D Is it a case of finding suitable replacements and just changing them or is it more complex? I read that the Smartpower uses 80mm by 20mm fans rather than the more common 80 x 25mm - can you just stick a 25mm in ...

Mine make a racket when in use but that doesn;t bother me as it is not that often...

I thought the only nosie in my HDD was the seek noise - I took by PC apart today and was surprised to find that noise (that I assumed was fan noise) was actually coming from the HDD. I am very doubful that suspension will get rid of this noise and that an enclosure is the way forward. How have peopl...

OK, I screwed in a piece of L shaped aluminium on each side of the HDD (one piece each side) I then took a block of foam and totally surround the drive, then i just put it all on the floor of my case (I hope this is safe!) With the PC on for about 20minutes Dtemp is reporting 30degrees - which is mo...

Hi I am going to suspend my HDD tomorrow - one way or the other I reckon... Zalman or Antec Smartpower 2?
I already own the Zalman 400W PSU and the Antec came with my Sonata 2 case. Looking at the SPR recommendations the Zalman only got a 3 for noise level and the Antec got a 6 (out of 10)! http://www.silentpcreview.com/article28-page6.html So I take it that the Smartpower is much quieter? Or does anyon...

Zalman 7700AlCu
Hi Just installed this on my PC and I am very dissapointed with the result (Athlon 64 3000) - We attached 2 fanmates, lowered the RPM to like 650 - 720 and I can still hear noise - its the only thing in my PC making any noise now. Rather, than wasting £30+ on another solution I have read that peopel...
