Or they could just build a proper public transport system. Mass public transportation only really makes (economic) sense in areas with high population densities (eg most of Northern Europe, Singapore, HK, all of India  ). For countries like America (or Australia for that matter) which have sma...

California's tax on a gallon of gas is definately higher than most states in the US. So, the tax is there. True, but USA fuel taxes are so low compared to the rest of the world (well Europe, Oz, NZ, Singapore, etc). At it's basic level, the proposal is meant to reward people that buy low emission v...

Re: New Core 2 Duo - E6320 & E6420

They've been on sale for the last week in Oz. The E6420 has 4mb of cache compared to the 2mb of cache on the E6400. It has a higher multiplier than the e6300/e6320 which means you dont need to run a silly high FSB if you overclock to get good results. If you want real easy overclocking go with the E...

If you are willing to OC then consider the E4300. 9x266 = 2.4ghz, 9x333 = 3ghz. All without stressing the motherboard or ram (667 ram for 3ghz).

yeah, some sort of ability to clock down one core vs the others. however, I read that intel will be doing that plus having variable voltage on each core. Still, it will help what AMD is doing as the real power usage comes from 2x speed of the core vs .3 volt difference at idle. From what I've read,...

You can file it by hand, however I just go to somewhere that cuts keys and ask them to take a couple of mm of the edge.

Try measuring with TAT. Basically TAT reports +15c above what every other application does.

pbecker, Your temp numbers are roughly the same as my E4300. The Ninja Rev B is shit at cooling. You'd have to do a mounting mod to give more pressure. Even then, it's still not up to par with other highend coolers. For intel's 775 socket I agree with you. With the supplied mounting mechanism the Ni...

1) Solid caps means the motherboard will last longer. But gigabyte uses decent caps anyway. 2) I dont think there is much difference between the 965 and 965 express chipset thermally. 3) DS4 adds a heatpipe linking it all. Its probably not worth it unless your in a high heat environment. I have to f...

By SPCR standards the Wii is not quiet, especially since its fan(s?) are all over the tiny leafblower variety, but compared to the 360, it's whisper-quiet. ...that's....weird. Also the ninja's fan sits right on top the both first 2 memory slots. There is like 1mm between the fan and the top of the ram when its installed.

I'm looking at the same/similiar combination. I'm leaning towards the DS3P for the firewire.

It looks like all of the Gigabyte 965 boards have the same issue, with the majority of people online just ignoring the fit issue.
