Yuck. What's the point of that? You instantly lose one of the biggest benefits of an SSD, specifically the benefit most important to this site, namely silence! SSD's have allowed me to keep all my big, slow, noisy (relatively speaking) hard drives away in a closet where they belong. And there they ...

Sharp have brought out a new range of tvs (le600 and le700 series), which are supposed to be the most efficient out there. Has full LED lit screen (not edge lit). Off the top of my head, the lc32le600 uses about 50 watts...and cost about £600. The 52" version uses about 100 watts :). those usage f...

i dont think your gona get a screen that size with <40w. my 32" Hanspree LCD tv (not sure of the model) uses about 150w when playing xbox My 19" HannsG is rated for something like 60W, and it draws 30W at maximum brightness, 10W at minimum brightness. So I'd much rather compare actual power reading...

Hybrid Drive (SSD + HDD)
i was browsing oc forums when i came across this thread: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=621836 I like the idea of 1 drive that contains a ssd, and a standard hard drive, that you you can use the ssd for the os, and have the hd portion for data, spending most of the span down when the data ...

Even though your media is replaceable, why not just use each disk as a single partition and not bother with the RAID0? That way, you can use all your space and the loss of a single disk will only affect the files stored on that disk. The only potential benefits of RAID0 are: - performance (which yo...

thats why i pointed that out. i know..but what im saying is that statement kinda destroys your argument of "you should have enough overhead". i have about a 60w over head left on my rig, with a 65w cpu, matx board, and 3.5" hdd, he has a 95w tdp cpu, and 2.5" hard drive , so imo i dont think that th...

honestly, I don't think you can beat the price/performance ratio of this drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152173 For what you are looking for, I would recommend a 5400 RPM drive. They seem to cost less, have less vibration, and are just flat out quieter drives. The sam...
