here's the link: http://www.antec.com/productImage.php?ProdID=75200&SetZone=en This is the top-mounted fan used in the Antec 900 and "forthcoming" Antec P190, where it is mounted toward the rear of the left side, ostensively for graphics card cooling. Also sold separately by Antec exclusively for now.

TJ-09

I'm also very interested in the TJ-09. The unique gpu cooling arrangement will help a little in cooling a G80 series card. But the concerns that Nici expresses are also my concerns. I think it wouldn't be too hard to dampen the side panels, which are already getting a bad reputation for being too th...

Ducting 8800 GTX?

s_zero: how would you go about ducting an 8800 in a Silverstone Temjin 7 or 9? Have you tried this? Any links to pics? Sounds very interesting.

Toys 2: I think you've made great choices. You might want to look at this article: http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/11/29/geforce_8800_needs_the_fastest_cpu/index.html The 6600 is a great choice because it's the least expensive C2D that still has the larger cache. Overclocked reasonably it should he...

Estimated power load

OK, I may have this wrong, but my understanding is that an 8800GTX can consume 280W of power. How much is an overclocked C2D e6600 going to consume? Isn't it reasonable that the op's system with peripherals on full load could consume close to 400W?

You might want to look at the Seasonic 700W PSU. It should be quieter than your choice. . The Zalman 9700 should fit. Check out this cofig.: http://www.endpcnoise.com/cgi-bin/e/std/sku=striker_elite As far as GTX in SLI, hmmmm.....tricky fit...to say nothing of the power demand and potential heat is...

Would 92mm fans be more effective? If you have a perforated side panel like the CM Stacker 830 series would a sucking setup be more effective? And given the 830's 4 120mm fan bracket on the side, why mount fans on this cooler at all as pictured on the CM-Europe site? Worth noting that this case now h...

I think you'd have to do some modding to mount the 120s outside the case. I've seen this done. You have to fabricate a sheet - I think plexi would do it-that can be fastened to the front and cut 3 120mm fanholes and you'll still have 2 bays left at the top.It might look better w/ a second sheet in f...

Quiet "Bleeding Edge" PC?

The question raised by Baudesign has been on my mind for several months. I'm in the process of attempting to configure a pc somewhat like this. One of my inspirations came from this review: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2023314,00.asp Overdrive PC is renowned for their overclocking skills usi...

The Lian Li 6077 looks like a very good recommendation at a great price. Space looks to be sufficient, high quality construction, much lighter than most of the others mentioned, for $110.Looks like a good candidate for sound dampening material as well.

The Chieftec Bravo full tower that Esa refers to looks like it has great potential with some silencing mods, but I don't think it's available in the US, the OP's home. The use of hot-swapable hdd cages tends to require the swapping of stock fans for quiet. Unless someone knows of one that provides g...

Lian Li 343B

The Lian Li case is really something: Plenty of room to allow space between drives, option for redundant PSU, etc. Here's the log of a server build: I suppose the downsides might be size (18" cube, same size as Mountain Mods U2- UFO), no removeable motherboard tray, and, as mentioned, cost. One basi...

I've never seen either of them, but the larger of the 2, the Titan, has storage for 6 HDDs, so has a lower capacity than the Stacker cases.

Hi Matt, The Stacker case is, I think, a very good choice given your needs. Purchase 2 extra 4-in-3 device modules and put 3 drives in each ( many report that 4 drives in one of these is tight). Swap out the stock fans for 800rpm quiet fans. Use rubber grommets to mount HDDs. If 2 5.25 bays at the t...

It might be worth noting that there are 2 versions of the 9700: 9700 NT and 9700 LED. Other than light color, the significant difference is that the LED has the tried-and-true Zalman Fanmate 2, whereas the NT uses PWM, automatic fan control. So the extent of your control over fan speed will be dete...

I don't have one, hard to tell from pictures--looks like it's riveted on. And no doubt it would obstruct airflow somewhat.
The CM Stacker 830 has mesh drive cover plates that filter pretty well without much airflow restriction, but I don't know if they're available as accessories.
