Are you sure? I thought only the 'retail' versions were (ones which end with AX in their model number or something). I happened to get a 7800GT which didn't have the AX or anything at the end of it... " * Lifetime Warranty is for all retail Graphics Card and Mainboard products ending in the part num...

Be careful about which exact model you get. Some only come with the 1+1 cooler.

How quiet is a WD Raptor?

I've seen the review on SPCR, and apparently the drive is very quiet when idle (which is important to me, rather than just seek). But according to the website, the drive is 32 dB when idle and 36 dB when seeking, which 'sounds' high to me. http://www.westerndigital.com/en/products/Products.asp?Drive...

Ah ok, those temps sound high (what are the room temps?). My XP120 and my 3500+ Winchester (on a DFI NF4 Ultra-D in a P180 with Nexus fans everywhere) got 22-28C at stock, and 26-33C when OC'ed to 2.5 Ghz. Room temps would have been arround 10-20C though.

Asus A8N-SLI Premium (/w Antec P180 & Scythe Ninja)

I'm just wondering about the compatability of these components. Is it true that the CPU slot of the Premium matches up exactly with the vents of the P180? (does this offer any cooling benefits?) Another thing is whether it is possible to mount the Scythe with the Premium, and have a fan on it from t...

Another option is the Arctic Cooling Silencer Nvidia 5 Rev 3.

It's currently debatable as to whether it's better than the Zalman or not, but 1 plus is that it vents the hot air outside the case.

The problem is that the Zalman and AC Silencer are so much superior to other coolers, that most people who have either one are blown away, but it makes it hard to compare the two based on comments like the previous.

Anyone willing to buy BOTH just to see how they really compare?

I'd like to hear someone compare the Silencer NV 5.3 to a Zalman VF7000-Cu. Rarely do people actually go and buy both (without recieving a faulty sample of 1 to begin with). I've got an Silencer ATI 5.2 on my X800XL. It's pretty good, but there is definitely ticking when at lower fan speeds (though ...

Ah ok, so you switched the fan.

I was getting about 28C load with my 3500+ @ 2.2 Ghz with my XP120 and Nexus 120 mm fan. But I get about 32-33C after overclocking to 2.5 Ghz.

I'm not a fan of absolute fanless because you can generally reduce CPU temps a lot, even with a very low RPM fan. I'm sure that fans with below 700 RPM are almost inaudible, but I'd expect good cooling gains compared to absolutely fanless.

I'd like to see a 'same RPM/cfm/dB' comparison between the heatsinks. It's annoying to see reviews where the fan which is using the faster (therefore louder) fan wins the review, but I'd like to know what HEATSINK is the best, rather than the fan attached.

Seems to have a few new features (speed and otherwise). Anyone got a clue whether they'll be quiet as well?

Samsung SH-R522 CDRW - Is it quiet?

I'm going to settle for a BenQ DW 1640 as my DVDRW drive. It seems to combine excellent performance with lower than average noise. But as for the CDRW drive, I'm not 100% sure. The Plextors are usually double the price, which I don't think is worth it. Has anyone heard of/used one of these? http://w...

Antec Neopower - Humming/buzzing noise?

I just sold my Neopower recently, but I haven't been able to replace it with a Seasonic S12 600W yet. But when I did have it, I swear there was a humming/buzzing noise comming from the PSU area. I'm not 100% sure yet whether that is correct, or whether I was hearing something else... So I'm wonderin...

Hmm. That sounds a bit counter intuitive, but if the temps aren't lower when the fan is on (which I'd usually expect to have a significant difference) then what you're doing sounds right.

If you're already running a few fans in you system, why not put a Nexus on the Ninja? A 5V or 7V one would hardly make a noise, but I'm sure it'd lower your CPU temps by a lot. (Or am I underestimating the heat production of the Prescott)

Yeah, but taking money aside (both are pretty expensive) isn't the Ninja better, 'pound for pound' (per amount of noise made)?
