Well, I don't know if there is something wrong with my revised unit, but it didn't fix the problem at all... now the rig won't even boot. I'm going to check if I can see any difference between the old one and the new one (apparently some cables may have different colors) and let you know. It's a sha...

Well, I can chip in as well. I got my replacement Neo HE 430W yesterday, and plugged it in the first thing I did after work. With this new sample, the fans just start spinning, and then the computer shuts down. Some protective measure kicking in without a doubt. With the old one, I can at least get ...

i know that site, and i had contact with most of the shops on that list + some other shops. It's been on preorder for more than 6 weeks now. I contacted Antec Europe (NL) and they told me more than a week ago that the case had been shipped to the dutch distributor. Should have been @ retailers by n...

The A8N-SLI Premium is the only Asus SLI board (except for the SLI32) that has stock passive cooling. The others all have annoying little chipset fans which you will need to replace (and thus void warranty). The Ninja shouldn't interfere with your graphics card, at least it doesn't in my case, but o...

Opterons utilize 1Mb L2 cache, unlike Venice-base procs. They also have an aditional HTT link available for greater memory throughput, advantageous for any program that utilizes it (admitedly not mainstream stuff ATM). Hmm, but the comparison was with 4400+/4800+ (Toledo), which has 2x1MB cache. Al...

hravn - thanks. I have decided to go for a 4400 x2. How will the Scythe Ninja cope with this? I don't know about this cooler. Shouldn't be any problems, the x2 4400+ has the same stock voltage as the x2 3800+, 1.35V, which is no problem for a Ninja (even passively). I'm running my 3800+ slightly ov...

While we're talking about the Ninja and attaching a Nexus, does anyone else have a problem with the new wire clips? I'm concerned that the clips are not lying smoothly in the cutaways on the fins - top and bottom are engaged, but the clip bows in the middle. The new wire clips at the ones designed ...

You are taking a pretty big risk if you buy that combo. There is loads of problems with the incompability between the A8N-SLI boards and the Neo HE PSUs. My A8N-SLI Premium (latest revision and BIOS) with the Neo HE will power on, but then powers down after like 30 seconds just idling in the BIOS lo...

I would not go with 5400 RPM HD as system drive, but that might just be me. In my rig, I'd say that my HD(s) is the bottleneck in alot of what I do... The PC3500 is just a waste of money, buy PC3200 and overclock the CPU to ~2.4GHz instead. I'd also say that you don't need that many fans, I'm using ...

Since Antec is going to replace the Neo HEs that does not work with Asus A8N-SLI boards (regular and 32) I guess you can just buy some cheap PSU to tide you over until you can get a replacement (and it's not even certain that your combo won't work, AFAIK if you are running the latest BIOS there shou...

I actually ran my X2 3800+ overvolted to 1.4V without any problems in my P150 with just a Nexus @ 9V as exhaust. Load @ 53C, maybe a bit high, so I added another Nexus on the Ninja and now have load @ 50C which is good enough for me (and my 400MHz overclock). Didn't add any extra noise as far as I c...

Could well be, since it starts but then powers down. Only one way to find out though, try it with another (cheap) PSU ($25 down the drain) or maybe with a different graphics card. I actually had a similar weird problem when I built my last rig, it was an Athlon XP, Abit NF7-S v2.0, ATI 9700 AIW and ...
