Fan swap question

I'm setting out parts waiting on my new CPU to come from newegg and I decided to do a little surgery on my PSU before I put it in. I have a few questions about what I did, and I'm not entirely sure where to find the answers other than just asking. 1. Do I HAVE to plug the fan wires back into the ori...

That's what I was afraid of, it is a fairly old PSU. I was hoping there was an adaptor perhaps or something like that.

New Mobo w/ 12v connector == New PSU?

After receiving my new Soltek SL-75MIV2 in the mail I opened it up to look at it and discovered it has what's apparently a 12v auxiliary ("pentium") connector that the manual says must be connected. The catch being the extra PSU I have doesn't HAVE that connector. Am I just out of luck and shopping ...

Actually, yes. If you focus the wear and tear to a smaller region, that region will wear out faster. Think of the path your fingers take in order to type, what would be different movements on a regular keyboard become similiar movements on the dvorak keyboard. For example, just hitting the E key goe...

Actually, no. RSI, from the scant bit of research I've read, is caused largely by making the identical movements. (Honestly, a good deal of the 'research' done for either RSI or Carpal Tunnel tends to be on the same level of quality with research paid for by Microsoft showing OSS is bad) Think of it...

They may have to change their policy on this. I'm not sure if I should feel bad, but I specifically said that I want to BUY one of those kits for personal use, and my free box arrived in the mail today.

I think I love them.

No, it's more than that. The sensor's reports are deliberately set to read 8-10° lower than the actual report coming from the sensor. I'm curious how much of it is conspiracy and how much of it is measuring the wrong thing. Here's what I mean, my A7N8X gives me the choice of three temperatures. Nea...

This isn't based on test data, it's based on theory. Healthwise, wouldn't a Dvorak keyboard be worse for you in the long run? I know, you're going to jump to comfort level and all that, but here's my line of thought. The Qwerty keyboard was designed to force you to move your hands more, which I beli...

It was running about 5C cooler with the fans turned all the way down. Now to get those temperatures I had to turn the fans ALL the way up. I've had some other recent weirdness with this machine, it may be related. I've got all my fans running off a Zalman's front panel fan controller (MFC1). I pulle...

Quick question on CPU

I'm usually reluctant to ask this kind of question because I'm fairly tolerant of higher temperatures, but when the temps go up for no apparently reason I start to get concerned. Recently I've moved and since then I've done a bit of fiddling with my case and fans, and since then I've noticed my CPU ...

Ok the one I broke is the top right, next to the Master/Slave jumpers. It's a Maxtor drive, a 4K040H2. I couldn't find a pin diagram on the Maxtor site. I'm wary of the drive, but it SEEMS to be fully functional.
