Will the accelerro 2 fit the 4870 1GB version?

I have one of these vga cooler in my closet, still in the package. I had planned on installing it to the 4870 video card after I finally purchase one. But I am now interested in the 1GB version of this card that hit the market recently, and I just want to know if the board is the same size and do th...

I will tell you that I really, really, dislike (hate) when people create topics with "teaser" subjects. If I ran this forum, I would ban such posts. Just for you m0002a , i changed the topic title. The truth is...I hate them too, and I do not know why I posted it that way at first. I was in a hurry...

Is there a way to bookmark your place within a PDF file?

Do any free PDF readers offer the ability to bookmark your place for viewing at a later date?

More heat over time?

I have a Gateway laptop model MX3215. It is only 2 1/2 years old. This may sound silly (i'm not sure, that's why i am asking), but i swear that this thing gets far hotter than it used to. The only hardware issue I have encountered is with the build-in WiFi. It quit working some time ago and the quic...

I'm speaking strictly of the Reader. The file downloaded from Downloads.com (as of 7/4/08 ) amounts to 33.4MB, unless this is just a setup file that downloads the other 67MB during the install process?

Adobe Reader 9.....what's new?

I sometimes post here for opinions on software. This is one of those times. What does Reader 9 bring with it that might encourage me to switch to it from Reader 8?

check the back and bottom of the eMachine case carefully. One of the license requirements for an OEM install is that the installer is supposed to place the Windows "Authentic" sticker on it and that sticker contains the unique license code for that machine. So you *should* have a code. You just nee...

Wedge....What I'm suggesting is to find a used E-Machine board somewhere, maybe E-Bay, maybe a used computer store. The restore CD should work even if the board is a different model. Ah okay. Wedge...I do this all the time at work with "Restore" XP CDs. When you replace a board or a HD for instance, the restore CD only looks for a BIOS of that brand......E-Machine in your case. So if you can find an E-Machine board from anywhere, used or otherwise, the restore cd will load right up. It ...

Windows OEM problem

I have a situation. My friend's motherboard from his eMachine is dead (reference thread here ). Now I am looking to buy a replacement board, but it occurs to me that not just any board will do. It will probably have to be the exact same motherboard. Normally I would be thinking to get a compatible s...

Accelero memory heatsinks

Please share your experience, especially if you own both rev1 and rev2. I am getting mixed messages on rev2 memory heatsinks. Many say they are a big improvement over rev1; still others say they are inadequate. But pretty much everyone seems to agree rev1 memory heatsinks are terrible.

New PSU was a no-go. The damage, regardless what caused it, is done. Interesting note though: The Bestec PSU is only 20-pin. Do not all PCIe boards need 24-pin? Bump for this question: For a PCIe motherboard, do I need a PSU that has the 24-pin connector? The Bestec PSU did NOT have but a 20-pin.

Auslogic Defrag is quick and nimble. Not sure how good of a job it actually does, but it defrags much faster than the Window's defrag. It also doesn't seem to consume much in the way of resources, i.e., if you need to use your PC while it is defragging, it doesn't really slow you down.

The BIOS is code and data in a FLASH ROM. It takes a CPU to read those instructions and do anything. [snip...] Try to verify that the CPU and RAM are good before purchasing the board. If they are all bad, go with something newer. Glad you mentioned that about the CPU. At this point I am unsure if I...

The PSU is indeed Bestec and i had thought about that, but it is providing power. Whether it is an adequate amount or not, I am unsure. I could certainly use a tried and trusted PSU just to be sure that it is not a power issue. I have already swapped in some RAM from one of my PCs. It's definitely n...
