I believe they mostly say this because it *could* be dangerous, but really, it wouldn't. It's like with all these modifications, you do it at your own risk, if something goes kaboom, it's your fault, not theirs. but if nothing went kaboom were would all the fun go in modding? my opinion is that if ...

the other way to 7V mod of connecting the 12V and 5V rails causing the potential difference of 7V could be harmful to your PSU but I was running two 120MM papsts that I swear was pumping out 100CFM+ each at 12V there were NOT light duty fans one of them had stainless steel blades ;) the PSU seemed t...

http://forums.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2135 this thread has some info about the discharge of the PSU, I did that fan swap mod on my PSU as well, one thing I found that made my life easier when I was trying the fans out is to put a 3 pin male connector on the end of the PSU fan wire...

fan adapters in my experience are good in faster case fans but not in quiet case fans like the panaflow L1A, an I managed to get better performance by just directly strapping the 80MM fan to the Heatsink without a adapter to block it u could mount it this way as well http://www.overclockers.com/tips...

hmmm... that is odd... could be a few things if your computer isn't totally dieing on u... could be your video card cutting out and coming back into it causing the screen blanking.... ummm this is a very odd thing though, I'd try to switch to another fan quietening method like a baybus or a rheostat...

But...since the fan would be at a low speed when I first turn it on, and my bios needs 2000 rpm on the cpu fan speed to boot, I would have to turn off the bios temp auto shut off feature on my mobo. another way of doing this bobash is to trick the Mobo that it's reading a higher speed fan, what u p...

Hello :) what I said with the acoustic foam it does help heaps but it isn't a silver bullet for noise reduction (I walked down that path b4  ) what u need to do 1st dude is to get rid of the stock heatsinks I think... depends on how much heat those MP's generate... and how much money u want to...

have u done any modifications to your Enermax PSU at all? I swapped in a 80MM Panaflow L1A into my PSU and had the same random reset problem as u but then I moved it up to a M1A and the reset problem seems to be gone :) what's your system setup as well? the enermax 350W should be able to handle all ...

with the Antec trilight fans does the sticker have the name of the maker of the fan on it? is it actually made by antec or is it rebadged with a different name like the vantac series of fans? Good stuff with the spilting of the wires though, dang and I was going to get me some of the papst fans to r...

ummm in my experience if u have a pretty cutting edge computer like u've got u're probably better off selling it by parts.... - u might want to try and save yourself the trouble with a system like yours and upgrade the video card to a Geforce Ti 4200 or something in that class, that should give u be...
