Please advise 1TB 3.5 drives
The recommended drive list hasn't been updated for a few years, and I want to know which recent drives are quiet and well-balanced.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Alternative to CCC that allows a fan speed of zero?
I want Speedfan to control my video card's cooling but the card seems to be generating its own speed signals in addition to Speedfan. Catalyst Control Center is good for boosting performance but it doesn't allow for a PWM value of zero to counter the card's defaults. Does anyone know of a program th...

Swiftech Apogee Drive II waterblock/pump combo
http://www.swiftech.com/apogeedrive2.aspx Swiftech's Apogee Drive II is a modification of their Apogee HD CPU block that doubles as a 'replacement top' for their pumps. I ordered mine directly from Swiftech's online store, which offers the choice of buying the unit with a MCP35X pump pre-installed ...

How precise does our location have to be? Is there any other fine print? Seasonic wants only to ship to N. Am, so I need to know whether you are in Canada, USA or Mexico. It doesn't matter to me if you are in Timbuktu but have a friend in Yellow Knife who'll happily take a PSU prize. Thank you, and...

Re: Pump as [quiet] as a 12cm fan at 700 RPM?
My current game system uses a Swiftech H20-320 HD Edge, which uses a MCP35X PWM. I just turned off all the fans (love my new AquaComputer Aquaero 5 LT) in the system, stuck my head in the case (it's still open, waiting on a new video card), and all I can hear is either the CD or one of the Harddriv...

Re: Fixing Ivy Bridge high CPU temps: IHS removal video
No, Sandy Bridge caps are soldered to the chip. At best thermal paste reaches 1/15 of that efficiency. Thank you, that saved me a lot of time and effort! The next best thing may be Coollaboratory's solder-like product for coolers/heatsinks, but it's a pain in the butt to apply. http://www.frozencpu...

Re: 140mm PWM suggestions wanted. (Non-120mm mounts)
Off the top of my head I can't think of any 140mm pwm fans. Why do you need 140mm fans? Because the stock fans on my case are 140mm. :P Will they accept 120mm fans? Can you do without PWM? What is your case? Not without an adapter, my case is Cubitek's Mini Tank: http://www.techwarelabs.com/cubitek...

140mm PWM suggestions wanted. (Non-120mm mounts)
There aren't a lot of reviews covering the acoustics of PWM fans with 140mm mounting holes, and the models I have found are out of my price range for trial and error.
Which ones have you guys tried and what are your thoughts?

Kept my hexacore Phenom II x6 in the 30s with push/pull, but can't keep the rest of the system cool enough now that I'm overclocking. Essentially it's a down-blowing version of the Yasya, and uses the same adjustable PWM fan: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1060-page7.html With the fan the total height is 155mm, please be sure this will fit and have room to breath...

Re: Choosing the correct radiators
I haven't constructed a WC setup either, but I've been researching what to do for a future build and have some advice: 1: Get radiators that are designed for low RPM fans, these are typically thinner and have wider fin spacing than radiators designed for overclocking. Otherwise you'll need high RPM ...

Re: Looking for a hard drive suitable for gaming
A bit off topic and doesn't really answer your question. You could purchase cache SSD's. Crucial, Corsair and OCZ caching SSD's are already in retail in Denmark which is usually a bit behind the US and the UK. Those might be a good-performing, cheap, and easy solution. I bought a 64GB Crucial SSD a...

Re: Question about USB to SATA adapters
I guess I am still missing something. If you have that then why bother with USB at all? Just hook it up to a SATA port on your motherboard or add a PCIe SATA controller if you are out of ports. I am out of SATA ports, and like I said earlier, a USB 3.0 adapter is cheaper than an add-in card. I've c...

Ok, when you said front panel and internally I assumed you meant a dumb (ie, no electronics) dock that is internal to your case and you needed some way to hook it up. Something like this: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817990014 You simply hook it to your internal SATA and pow...
