Hey, I was just curious if everyone has received their prizes? I have a feeling someone else may have received a free power supply if my Paypal home address was used; versus the one provided. Ah well. Heh. That's what I get for moving!

Heh. Well.. -$25 mail in rebate that I'd lose for the 9600GT, -$22.50 for restocking fee, -$? for shipping fees. Yeah.. it's not worth it on my end; that's a full tank of gas! *grin* It still sucks though. Enjoy the card!

Heh. Of course I want the faster card but for what I'm going to be using it for, computer modeling and some simulation stuff with Crysis maybe, I'm not sure if it'd change things much. I don't game much beyond my 360. Add in shipping costs and I'm looking at a $50+ loss if I switch cards.

Argh. And I just bought the silent ECS 9600GT for $150. Is it worth the 15% restocking fee though?

Oh wait. I still have to send in the stupid rebate form in to knock it down to $125.

I was curious how much this would really alter my MPG and decided to follow some of the hypermiling advice over the course of my last fill up. I drive a 2005 Scion tc with an EPA MPG rating of 22/30. I drive a combo of highway and local roads and managed to get close to 33MPG. Hah. I think the drive...

I'd be curious to see that TV spot as well.

Bummer. I would hope that such an initiative would at least make it easier to recycle, or at least bring it to peoples attention. There's very little attention given to recycling electronic devices where I live in the States; let alone batteries, fluorescent bulbs, etc.

Save and reuse what ever you can, fix what you can, donate or sell what you don't need and recycle what's beyond redemption. UK's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

With effect from July 2007, the UK's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations require that all producers of electrical equipment are now obliged to pay for recycling of household electrical goods, where previously this bill was met by councils or items were not recycled at all. T...

This is all a very circuitous and rambling argument; not very well thought out, and backed up with a statement like, " I don't need to buy into the Blueray hype either because I can trust to good ol' pirates to provide me with another distribution channel " doesn't help. I'm sure everyone here reali...

Well.. there are plenty of places that offer a variety of heat sinks. You could probably even get a free sample or two out of a few places.

A quick search on Goolge for "custom heatsink" brought up a bevy of links.

Just a few:

Alpha Novatech

Aavid Thermalloy

Does it support HDCP or not? Somewhat conflicting info on the product page. Probably more power efficient than a 6200.

Cool. Mark me down as being corrected. Bathman, have you really stressed that system? I've been thinking of tossing in a PCI 6200 for my D201GLY using a Pico120; simply because Linux graphics support is lacking running the SIS chipset.
