77W sounds like alot to me for a system like that.

I had this E4500, G33, HD3870, Samsung 3,5" that drew 67W idle.
My E4500 was undervolted but the HD3870 I used in that system used considerably more power then your HD3850.

Try undervolting your CPU and see if it helps a bit.

So i'm waiting for Acer TimelineX 1830T to be released. Should be released in June. It should be €549 (around $731) It should be very good value for money with them following specs: 11,6" LED-backlit 1,366x768 display (probably glossy :x ) Intel's Core ix processors (rumors say Core i5-520UM) 4GB ...

Prices vary quiet a bit from place to place but ~$1000 is max I guess.

A $500 laptop (in USA) could easily be $750 or more in Denmark.

Lenovo X201 looks very nice but it's ~$2300
Acer Aspire TimelineX 3820-series (~$1050) looks good but I don't know anything about them.

What notebook to replace current laptop + desktop pc ?

Hi there I'm looking for a laptop that can replace my laptop and my desktop pc. Having one machine instead of two will make things alot easier. My desktop pc: Jetway 780G motherboard 4 GB RAM AMD 4850e My laptop: Toshiba Portegé R500 (12,1") Intel U7600 (1,2 GHz) 1,5 GB RAM GMA 950 As said i'm look...

Hello You can't generalize like that. Some Dell's might be quiet while others are definitely not. I have a Toshiba Portegé R500-100 and it's terrible noisewise but other Toshiba's i've heard are nowhere near as noisy (but still not quiet or silent). There are fanless laptops available. Stick a SSD ...

Either that or it was a 1600 rpm version of the same fan.

The fit-PC2i has a bit more horsepower.

I made a USB powered fan some time ago. It's really easy. Fan has a black and a red wire. (and maybe another one for RPM sensoring but that's not needed. Cut it off) USB cable has a black and a red wire. Connect black to black and red to red and you are done. It's that easy. NOTE: Make sure the fan ...
