The Antec CP series is quiet, but the power they deliver is overkill for most uses. http://www.silentpcreview.com/article971-page6.html They're fairly cheap though, so if you know you need the extra juice they provide, you can't go wrong with one. The Nexus Value should be enough for most people tho...

I forgot to mention - there's no point in setting the fan speed to a fixed 40% like falcon26 did. If you just leave it on auto, it'll very slowly ramp from 20% (idle) to 40% max. In my Antec P182 case with stock fans set to low the max GPU temperature after one hour of OCCT was 87C, and VRM temperat...

The HX650W was actually quite a bit cheaper than the Signature, and the only other possible alternatives (if they ever come out here) are the Enermax Modu87+ and Seasonix X 650 - but they'd cost a fortune. There's some serious price gouging going on, probably because the stores are importing them on...

The Liberty Eco 400 W has 45 cm cables, the 500/620 has 55 cm. The Coolermaster has only 40 cm cables, so yes I'm worried. Routing the cables through main chamber doesn't seem to be a solution at any rate - you don't really save anything compared to going behind the mobo as you have to route it past...

A friend recommended the HX 650, so I'll definitely be taking a look at that. Would the Coolermasters work in P182 with the short cable length? I actually didn't think the Modu82+ was available here, but it turns out there's one store that sells them. It tests better than the Antec Signature at SPCR...

Need replacement suggestions for Corsair VX550 in Antec P182
Right now I'm rather miffed with the PSU in my case - I just recently got a 5870 with a Twin Turbo Pro that's fairly quiet, but the extra load the video card needs from the PSU means that the fan is ramping up fast and loud. I did a load test with OCCT loading up all 4 cores of my Q9450@3Ghz and vid...

Is this badboy Crossfire compatible? So will it fit 2x 5870 both with twin turbo? It should be, barely. You have to use the Crossfire connector closest to the back of the case. In addition the card and cooler take up 3 card slots, so there's not a lot of clearance for airflow. I've posted some pict...

It might be the fact that I'm unable to explain the 'problem' properly. But since you have disassembled the stock HSA, you know how it's designed. Now take a close look at the thermal pad for the vregs / VRM:s. You will find imprints in the actual thermal pad made from the capacitors that I pointed...

Finally got my Twin Turbo Pro installed. It's not silent, but it's a lot better than the stock cooler. I took some pictures of the installation, but will post them later. VRM temperatures under normal game load (Mass Effect 2) are hotter than with the reference cooler, but nowhere close to critical,...

The Prolimatech MK-13 with two 120mm fans is probably the best at the moment, but the S1 is no slouch either: http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/hardware/gehaeuse_kuehlung/2009/test_vier_grafikkarten-kuehler_vergleich/8/ The problem as you can see, is the VRM temperatures. You might need a VRM-3 or ...

How would XFX be any different warranty wise than say, PowerColor? Replacing the cooler would void your warranty either way I'd think. I suppose you could fit the regular cooler back on and hope they don't notice that you swapped them if doing an RMA, but you have to be really careful that you don't...

By the way it seems some people are experiencing some problems with their ATI cards: http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=260&threadid=124747 Anyone getting a card might want to do some proper stability testing here before attempting any mods that void the warranty (such as replacing the...

One thing I'm wondering is with the high VRM temps, the card might attempt to throttle the GPU. More info here: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3643&p=11 EDIT: More info - looks like 120C is the point where the VRMs start throttling on the 5970, so it's probably the same on the 5870 an...

Which one?

That link you gave on ME2 makes me happy I ordered a 5870 though - never thought I'd have a use for such a powerful card already (have a 8800GT atm).

Now the question becomes - what's better, this solution or a Vapor-X card? :) EDIT: Nm - just ordered a 5870 and Twin Turbo Pro. Hopefully this turns out to work as well for me as for the original poster. On a different note - I do have to wonder if it's possible to use the shroud from the 5870 cool...
