Bluefront: That fan is a peice of junk. TekGems sold them at a loss for $1 a piece because of my review. FYI, the medium-speed LED Yate Loon fan is every bit as good as the "L" version, but the hard plastic does resonate more when hard mounted to a case.

I should sue. They ripped off my picture and obviously paraphrased my review... pfft. Here's *my* original review:

Not to mention that the life of a bearing can vary depending on orientation of the fan. Seasonic is likely well aware that sleeve-bearing fans wear out faster when mounted horizontally; possibly this was a reason (or one of them) for choosing the more costly ADDA fan.

I used to use Arctic Cooling Silencer NV5 Rev. 2s in some of the systems I built, but they all became noisy after approximately 3 months. I tried contacting the manufacturer for warranty service, but they were unreachable. I replaced those units with Zalman VF700CUs and they seem to be holding up be...

OK, I just got back from my trip to FL and was happy to find a new shipment of fans, including the Globalwin 120mm fan. I compared it to my quietest fan, a modified Yate Loon D12SL-12 running at ~850 RPM. I modified the Globalwin to run at ~900RPM. My analysis was conducted at these speeds. AMBIENT ...

Honestly, the Vantec Stealth fans are all junk... from a noise perspective. Their motors click horribly at all voltages. Just about any of the fans on SPCR's recommended list will outperform it acoustically.

The 7700 is known for having a loud ball-bearing fan. You'll need to swap it for something quieter.

DB: Wow, thanks for the thorough reply. So the L1A should be quieter? That would seem reasonable. I've tried a few 80mm L1As and they had an entirely different motor noise than this 92mm 1BX. The 80mm L1A's motor sounded muted, whereas this 1BX sounds very raspy. It's definitely not a situation of a...

Jaganath: The Panaflos don't seem to hold a candle noise-wise, but they supposedly are very long life. I know Nexus and Yate Loon fans (among others) are quieter, but I'd like a second fan choice for long-life/high-temp applications. So far, it seems Akasa's fans may be the only non-sleeve bearing m...

I have my doubts that it's quieter than a Yate Loon D12SL-12. I've evaluated a ton of Coolermaster SUF-series fans, and they're good, but the YL is still better for low-noise IMO. I've tested a bunch of ball/hydro/sleeve bearing fans, but no ceramic bearing fans... which is why I'm willing to give i...

I can't speak for the 120mm version, but I've sampled many 80 and 92mm sleeve-bearing Tri-Cool fans. While motor noise is very low, there was some high-pitched whistling... probably bearing noise. Another Poll - More Quiet Fans!

Hey guys, I've contacted Yate Loon and I'm thinking about making a bulk purchase of their quietest fans in 80mm, 92mm, and 120mm sizes. I know everyone likes the D12SL-12, but would you guys be interested in the 80mm and 92mm varieties? Thanks for your candid input, it's appreciated. Sorry if I'm as...

Those AcoustiFans are overpriced, and at 12V they're too noisy. I might consider selling them if I can get them wholesale. There really is nothing too special about them, although I can't judge until I get some samples.

I don't expect to make any huge profit here, nor do I expect that selling just fans is going to be a real bread-winner for me. I just wanted to see if there was any interest in it... for cheap, cherry-picked, lightly modified fans.
