The Samsung website says AC+X30 = fan always on.

Been looking at these because I'm considering getting one. Maybe its because the X30 is a discontinued model?

Anyone know of any 3rd party utilities?

Accordingly to this:-

http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/vid ... part3.html

its alot slower than the Gigabyte X800XL which is also passive.

Don't see the point of the X1600XT.

A passive X1800XL, now that would be interesting....

Very simple solution: 1. Zalman fan bracket - £3 2. 80/120mm fan of your choice Blows along the length of the graphicsc card HS. Practically silent at 5/7v I use that arrangement on my overclocked fanless 6800 (same heatsink as the X800). During 100% load it reduces the temp from about 90C (2hrs max...

Theres a thread about dampening material and V1000 etc already (I know because I postde it!)

Long story short: don't bother. The noise from the BFG will cut through anything. If you want to reduce noise, you must do something the graphics card HSF.

It's all very gimmicky in my view (I own a V2000). All the extra flaps and vents really don't assist airflow - they increase just noise (both resonance and wind turbulance). If you want extra cooling across the PCI cards you can achieve the same thing using a Zalman fan bracket for £5 together with ...

My views haven't changed that much. The keyboard is quiet but the keys have a slight rubber dome feel underneath them (which is probably why they're quiet). You do notice the slight lag but I can't say that its caused me problems or that I've found it annoying. High speed touch typists or gamers mig...

If you mean BIOS menus on bootup, yes its works fine.

Startup time is negligible.

Lack of caplock doesn't annoy me personally - don't really look at that light on a 'normal keyboard' anyway - also DiNivo has big green OSD when you cap lock on/off, or change volume etc

I bought one of these today and agree with all the original reviewer's comments. Two things annoy me:- (1) there is noticeable keyboard lag which is going make a noticeable difference if you play fast action 'frag em up' type games. For office applications its fine. (2) lettering on the keyboard is ...

Re: SPCR and Aluminum Anti-Bias?

Lian Li V1000 so it is curious that SPCR hasn't reviewed the V1100 or V1200 at least. Only the SPCR reviewers can answer that one. Sure, it would have been interesting to see a review when the case first came out but as an owner of the V2000 (and previously the Sonata), the V2000 doesn't come remot...

Ditto the above. The tabs are pointsless anyway because they never reach normal length PCI cards.

I've completely taken the brace out of my V2000 to reduce case vibration (I've tried to remove as much alu on alu contact as possible).

46C isn't ideal but there's not much you can do about it if you're intent on running fanless. Unless you're planning on keeping your drives for a long long time, it shouldn't be issue. Usual caveats re regular backups etc My SpinPoint is 32-34C (DTemp/SMART) with a 5v 120m fan blowing across it. Sys...

I've owned the Pre-Cut Sonata kit as well as the Deluxe version, and IMO, the performance between the countoured thicker piece and the thinner non-countoured piece is unlikely to become a issue because of the following:- 1. The major point is that if there is a noise source from your PC that is so l...
