Yes, Intel designs the P4 HSF, they even design their own motherboards, but show me one case that Intel has designed?! They 'SUGGESTED' the Intel Thermal Design Spec alterations to the basic ATX design to compensate for the P4 processor excessive heat dissipation problems. AMD makes no such alterati...

Hopefully at least some of you have tried contacting our customer support. The more we know the better. I did, several times. That wasn't very helpful. With the only reply being similar to "Check the lines with a voltmeter, if they're within xyz then the PSU is good." The voltage checks I did...

Without that third wire it is absolutely impossible for your computer to know the RPM that fan runs on. Well, that's not entirely true. 'Fancontrol' posted somewhere around here that he built (and sold) a fan RPM sensor unit to supply accurate RPM data to motherboards for two-wire panaflo fans (and...

I just looked at the photos and the rear fan mount is terrible! I'd avoid this case if I were you! That step under the rear fan mount would make it nearly impossible to cut out the grill AND mount the fan without the proprietary plastic mount thingy. Since you're ordering from directron, check out t...

Just an update on my batch of ten from Tekgems. I broke them all in at 12V for about 10 hours. In case some of you didn't know, fans (sleeve bearing especially) will speed up after break-in and you get a better feel of their noise profile than when brand new. Two of them had moderate vibrations and ...

A little off-topic but I just got done suspending my Maxtor 120GB drive using cheap 10" bungie cords ($1.50 for 4). All I can say is WOW! I had no idea the result would be that dramatic! My resonance problem is GONE. I also have my Sonata sitting on an old sorbothane mousepad cut in half. No...

I had a problem with my TP380S (original Sonata revision) where the voltage rails wouldn't stabilize within tolerances (verified with voltmeter). WinXP would randomly quit/error as well. I tried several times to arrange an RMA through Antec's website AND the Antec Rep in these forums but to no avail...

Actually, if you just take some heavy duty wire cutters you should be able to cut the grill out by cutting the grill tabs where it attaches to the main metal part (hard to describe in words). You'll be left with really jagged edges which you can either bend over with pliers or cover with c-strip mou...

Edit: By the way, does your motherboard not support dual-channel RAM? Mine does and uses DIMMs 1 and 3 in order to have the RAM in a dual-channel configuration. Not sure if it makes a difference, but you never know! The MSI Nforce4 boards use 1 & 2 or 3 & 4 for dual channel. His is running dual cha...

can somebody advuise whats best to do to the front and rear fan grills? Well what you should have done is remove the fan grills BEFORE you installed all of your components. Now you have to remove everything to cut out the grills so you don't get metal clippings all over your electronics. Do a searc...

Re: ...what he said
Hello: 3000B is definitely the way to go. 1) It's fan grills are much better than the Acousticase grills. 2) It's right side panel is removable. Reportedly, the Acousticase's isn't. 3) 3000B + foam + PSU (of your choice) should be cheaper, or about the same as, the Acousticase. 4) If you're plannin...

Nice setup so far. I'm sure you have all this planned anyway but... Don't forget to line the fan cutouts with c-strip/u-channel. Freshly cut sheetmetal can be dangerously sharp. Also, it looks like you might be able to stealth your power wires behind the motherboard tray somewhat. Make it PURTY!! 8)...

Sorry to disagree with you Ed, but on some motherboards (like mine) the black wire is required as well as the yellow signal line for RPM monitoring. Interesting; I'll note that in the future. That's the first time I've heard of that; as a matter of fact, it was a basic assumption to me since all th...

In order to power it with molex and monitor speed, you'll need to either buy an adapter that only runs the signal line, or mod the plug so the red and black lines no longer make contact. -Ed Sorry to disagree with you Ed, but on some motherboards (like mine) the black wire is required as well as th...
