neither of mine vibrate much at all. I have them resting on foam so there is no vibration into the case. When held in my hand they are no better or worse than any other average drive.

That is a point, I could use one of those tools that erases the whole HDD!! I forgot about them :) The good thing about WD, is that when you RMA you always get a different drive back.
