Anyone using the Nexus on a XP-120?

Planning to replace the stock cooler on my Athlon 64 3400+.

Looking at this fan; just wondering if anyone had any experience.

Thanks

MainframeGuy - what settings do you have in the BIOS for fan control? I've been using CoreCenter to do it.

Yesterday I upgraded to the latest version of CoreCenter - 1.7.0.0.

It now has n/a for sys temp, with the higher temp for NB temp. Given the chipset is cooled only by a small passive heatsink, I can believe it is hotter than the CPU.

AIDA32 reports:

Motherboard 46
CPU 32
Aux 35

Board: MSI K8N Neo Platinum

Software: MSI CoreCenter.

I'm not too bothered: the machine seems stable, and I haven't made any mods to the case yet.

Thanks to those who answered my questions regarding the SLK3700AMB. In case you hadn't guess this was the first time I'd bought a case. :) The noise level is much lower than my previous case - that had 2x 80mm behind open blowholes!. The only problem is now I can hear my HD: previously it was drowne...

Just flashed my BIOS to one that claims better CPU temp reporting: now at ambient+ 14, system +29.

Need to do more testing to confirm stability.

edit: Just put my hand over the exhaust from the PSU: doesn't feel hot, let alone over 50c.

Case Temp > CPU Temp

I just installed my system into an SLK3700AMB. It's currently stock, with the rear 120 plugged into the Fan Only output of my True Power 550. As I speak temps are reported as ambient+26c for the CPU and ambient+33c for the system. This at idle. Would you be inclined to believe this, and if so would ...

SLK3700AMB Drive Rails

Stupid question: which way round do I attach the rails to the drive. A picture would be great.

SLK3700AMB -What are these?

Just got mine today.

What are the two metal pieces? They can be seen to the left of this picture in the blue bag: http://www.silentpcreview.com/files/ima ... ivebay.jpg

Thanks

Just ordered the AMB. I'll be keeping the PSU as a backup.

If you mean this one: http://www.evercase.co.uk/GigaECE4252.htm

It only says 120mm at rear. Though I am hoping not to have a front fan.

The Antec will be about the same price.

Thanks for the reply :)

Already read the reviews. I do prefer the HD mounting on the AMB, and it is less expensive. Shame it comes with a PSU: bought a True Power 550 back in August. I know there is somewhere in America that sells them PSU-less, but I'm in the UK.

3700 BQE or AMB?

Finally had enough of the noname case that came with my machine. Final straw was when I found there was not enough room for a rear 120mm.

Leaning toward Antec, but which of the two?

Thanks

Derek
