You could have a look at the
Thermalright XP-120 thats a bit older and so you might be able to find it a bit cheeper.

My next Hint is to go down this list untill you find a price you like

A CPU's temp will normally vary with workload and ambient temp anyhow. If you were frequently near the chip's temp limit-then maybe there's a concern-but what you describe is what was in the design plan,if anything the C + Q probably has a positive impact on chip health. ok cool, ill just leave it ...

It's not like he said he wants minimal noise or that he's using a small-capacity PSU (Sonata II PSU is 450W).
If he doesnt want minimal noise then why would he be on the SPCR forums.

why do you need a 6600GT in a file server? just replace it with a really old, passively cooled video card.... like a RAGE 128, or GeForce 3/4... The 6600GT isnt in the file server. its in my main comptuer, but before i set up my file server the 3 lard HDs in my main comptuer were louder than the fa...

NVidia control panel says the core slowdown limit is at 145 degrees C, so you may have some legroom yet- just make sure it doesn't set fire to your cables, melt your case, etc. At that temperature the whole card will be radiating, and seriously affecting the temps inside the case, which wil...

Running Geforce 6600GT Passive -(stock)- Zalman VF900-CU

Hey there I’ve been running with the stock cooler on my 6600GT for a while now because I have a few to many Has and so could hear it but now I’ve set up a File server so its easily the loudest thing in my computer. I’m just doing a little experiment with turning off the fan using Riva Tuner to...

If you go to the Power Management settings in Windows you can have unused hard drives power up and down automatically as needed after a certain time (anything from 3 mins+). This any use? Feel like I'm missing something... :? because through all my years of useing comptuers, that has never worked. ...

Yes between the bottom of the XP120 and the VM-102 there is enough room for a Fan and about 5mm clearance above and there could be more because you can bend the heatpipes a bit.

Aerocool VM-102 My first impressions

Well first off i not very happy with this particular one. The way this works is the heatpipes of the top bit are sandwiched between the bock on the GPU and the bottom Plate/heatsink but the channels on the bottom plate are slightly farther apart than those on the GPU Block so the heatpipes are pulle...

What is the best way to load my GPU (for testing purposes) Would it be 3D Mark or is there a program designed for it like CPU Burn for CPUs.
