I don't know about WD 800B but the special edition drives, 800JB make awful lot of noise at idle. 7200.7 is WAY quieter at idle (but seeks are louder).

Is "system" temperature measured off the NB? Why are you saying that your "system" temp went up after you changed the NB HS? I'm just curious because I don't know where the thermal sensor for "system" temp really is.
