there is no space to do a DIY hd suspension, and then put lots of foams around the HDs like I did in the SLk. All I could do is to put some thin foams on the side pannel. I was on the same boat as you are, read this thread. The P180 doesnt have lots of space to damp the HD noise. If your case works fine then just keep it why do you wanna upgrade?

yes its better to install it upside down, there will be a larger space for the PSU fan and also better cable managment.

Isnt there a software that could do this?

I personally think P180 is an excellent case, the loudest thing in my system right now is idle HDD sound which can't be dampened without putting them in enclosures, something I would never do since I value my data much more. Would you like to sell your P180, I might take it if the price is right. ;...

Believe it or not this wireless router is noisy, probably comes from the capasitors. But it will be below the level of any PC unless its a truly silence PC with 2.5" HD.

Most important component would be the sound card(s), so find low power CPU, video card and PSU that'll handle your needs. that is not where the world ends.... This is getting a seriuos issue, with all the fans being inaudible with case clsoed the HD will be the only thing audible . Everybody looking for large HDs has the same problem. I heard 7200.9 500gb are the worst.

thanks man, only difference between slk3000b and the P150 for me is that the HD suspension is already provided and wont interfere with the mobo plus there is no cpu duct which means higher temps but lower noise.
