Re: picopsu-80, what have you managed to run off of it?

the 12v line definitely droops but is always within spec, the lowest it went was ~11.60v during a stress test. as for rewiring i think i'm too electrically nooby and lazy to even try :) i was really after some feedback regarding a vanilla picopsu-80, some more hope that everything will be fine when ...

picopsu-80, what have you managed to run off of it?

it's recently come to my attention that it only specs 12v at 4A, which makes me think it won't be enough for a barebones 65w trinity based pc. having said that i am currently using it to run a admittedly heavily undervolted and underclocked athlon ii x3 440 @2.1ghz max and -0.275v undervolt, which a...

thanks for the review, no one tests power consumption like spcr.

i'm thinking about getting my hands on a 65w a8 or a10 once they become available, anyone else?

Re: Seasonic G360W gold for $60 - Review & Giveaway!

i have absolutely no doubts that the g360 is a better and more versatile psu, all i ever said was that the pico is efficiency king <40-50w, which it is. the points you listed are exactly what i like about it: my pc idles at around 30w, peaks at 70w, most time is spent idling or video watching/intern...

Re: Seasonic G360W gold for $60 - Review & Giveaway!

spcr tests, g360, pico+80w, pico+120w:
~31w input, 69.5%, 79.4%, 77.7%
~50w input, 81.8%, 83.6%, 85.6%

the pico isn't for everyone but it excels at what it is meant for.

looks like the pico+good brick combo is still efficiency king <40-50w, if i needed a regular power supply though this would be it.

thanks for replying, i'm glad antec seem to have sorted out the initial problems. an external brick is the cheapest way to get up to 92%(from antec website) efficiency in a low powered system. especially during extremely low power idle where even an expensive gold or platinum psu would probably be b...

nice build, you don't see many tiny cases in the gallery. a question regarding the case: the spcr review of the isk100 pointed out that there were quality issues, such as the misaligned motherboard and screws that were too long. did you encounter any problems when installing components? as for the i...

hopefully this info can still be useful. just last night i went from an antec ar350 80plus to picopsu80 and 84w delta power brick (from ebay), my results: idle/load ar350 40w/68w picopsu 32w/68w as you can see the pico is amazing at low load, once it gets higher though the 80plus catches up. the cav...

Re: c3 stepping athlon ii x3 undervolts like a champ!

there you go! my latest tweak is using windows to turn my 440 into and undervolted 405e. setting the cpu max to 77% in power options tops out my cpu at p1 which is 2.3ghz and 1.01v, load power consumption dropped about 12w to ~68w which was quite nice. idle power was and still is disappointing for m...

at stock 1.02v, undervolted 0.77v running 800mhz. i've seen another forum member get their x2 250 to 0.67v idle but i think that's the limit, i could probably go lower but i don't want to bother with k10stat, i just use the bios and cnq. one of the positives of most llano reviews was the power consu...

Re: AMD A8-3850 Quad Core Desktop APU

don't suppose we can get some undervolting done too?
providing the mb supports it of course.

with the a8-3800 being only 500mhz slower and having a tdp of 65w, the logical explanation is that there's some pretty hefty undervolting going on.

being able accurately and reliably measure the dc power consumption of every separate component would be a godsend... don't think it'll happen though.

as it is we just have to use what we get, and the hopefully forthcoming spcr review would be very useful in this regard.
