OK well if there are no more opinions the S-Flex 1600rpm sounds good to me. Now how should I mount this fan? I have opened the PSU before, and I know that the ADDA is held on with 4 screws (duh) but there are 4 black rubber washers or what have you (I don't know exactly I can't remember since the ti...

I don't know much, well, I don't know anything really, but just from common sense, wouldn't it seem like thin dampening mats would do nothing if not next to nothing? It seems like the thicker you go the better the dampening would be, so a thin dampening sheet would do next to nothing... Again this i...

Will I notice a performance increase with a Seagate Pipeline
I want a new hard drive, my current WD 80GB SATA is loud. The Seagate Pipeline 500GB ST3500321CS caught my eye, it is very quiet, and decently cheap. I looked at the review here and I am comparing the speed results, and it wins in everything over my hard drive except random access time. Here are the...

Best replacement fan for [Corsair] 400CX?
I have a Corsair 400CX. It has the loudest fan in my system. (Not that fan the fan is very loud, but everything else is quieter so it by default becomes the loudest thing in my system.) I would like to replace the fan, which is an ADDA, a AD1212MB-A71GL to be precise ( http://www.mouser.com/search/P...

Well supposedly the P180 has great sound dampening properties. And what I'm saying is that I know I want a P180, I am not torn between 2 cases, I am not certain which hard drive I want to buy, so if I want to purchase something right now, the P180 would be the better bet because I am very sure of i...

Jeez, the Caviar Green 1TB is 100 dollars! I don't need ANYWHERE close to that much. But as has been said earlier if I go with a lower capacity drive I might get more platters or what have you and it would end up being louder. Man, paying for capacity I don't need to get silence. The 640GB WD Caviar...

I do not know anything about the AAJS, and it has not been reviewed by SPCR. Most retailers do not seem to have it in stock. And besides, how do you know that it does not suffer from the same issues as the AAKS, and you got lucky? I am pretty sure there was never a 2-platter WD3200AAJS. If so, at l...

So you do need a modern low-capacity drive :) An example would be the 320 GB WD3200AAKS. You can find a review on the main site. The WD3200AA K S has several possiblle issues. Some are older design 2-platter drives (I had one, and they were decent), some of the newer single platters are missing par...

So other than not having the cable management and the color difference the v1.1 is the same as the P182? I don't think that the cable management is worth the extra 50 dollars. Some zip ties and some work will have me in order. Would you agree? The cheapest I can find a 180v1.1 for is 100 on ebay wit...

Does the P180 v 1.1 have the wire management of the 182?
So I am looking at some new Antec P180's for 100 bucks free shipping on eBay, and their advertised as version 1.1, and they say they have all the same features as the P182, but it seems like the P182 has the PSU cables go behind the motherboard while on the P180 that isn't an option. Can someone cle...

See I don't want that much storage. Like I am surviving on an 80GB right now and it is fine. I mean I don't need a 500GB or a TB drive or anything. So are the lower capacity drives just as quiet as the higher capacity drives? Depends :) As far as I know, you are looking for high information density...

Let me rephrase my original question again, what is the quietest hard drive that has moving parts and uses magnetic disks and not a laser, and has a form factor of either 2.5" or 3.5". I'd say a single platter 5400rpm 2.5" hard drive should be the quietest. Probably the 250GB Western Digital Scorpi...
