Re: Any currently available Socket P or Socket 775 Mini-DTX
I just rechecked that power supply calculator page... Still getting 465w after taking all the fans and potential usb drives out. Pretty sure I've got everything in there correctly too, this is non-oc. Strange, not sure. Those PSU calculators have been discussed in this forum before; the general con...

Re: bit-tech test: How many case fans
Tests like these are a bit dubious because, as bit-tech themselves wrote, " ...what will work for one case may not work for another and different fans have different strengths and weaknesses too. " and " ...it’d be patently impossible for us to draw solid conclusion that are relevant to each and eve...

You're asking about a P193 successor à la the P280? I doubt that, as the P193 V3 was released not long ago.lor77 wrote:question:Any infos about a P293 variant after the successor to P280??

Re: What is the smallest full-featured m-atx case?
The NSK3480 from Antec is smaller, but I think the TJ08-E is a better case. Or maybe the PS07, also a Silverstone case, which basically have the same internal layout. Even though some cube cases are smaller they often have a limited amount of space to fit a large heatsink.

Re: Radeon 7970 aftermarket compatibility?
I can't confirm it but it sure looks like that's the case. Apart from the fact that the GPU is rotated by 45 degrees there's a frame that surrounds it, I suppose that to avoid the frame and ensure proper contact with the GPU there need to be a bump in the base of the cooler.

Yes, the 3.5" SQD has been unavailable for quite some time now, at least in Europe. And the global Scythe site lists it as discontinued: http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/hd ... inued.html

There's a Air Penetrator fan (14cm version though) in the bottom, a sideways mounted ODD (but not in the top) and PSU in the Mini-ITX version of this case.

In your third photo it looks as if there are four screws in the section above the CPU cooler, aren't those the ones that you should unscrew to remove the HDD bay?

Re: Of fans, RPM, motherboards and 4-pin vs 3 pin connection
On both boards, it appears that the fan control will not go below 60% of max RPM. That's in the UEFI, usually it is possible to go lower with Fan Xpert. A quote from the SPCR review of the Asus P8H67-I Deluxe: In the UEFI the CPU and Chassis fans' minimum speeds can be set to 0% and 60% respectivel...

The power draw of RAM is negligible, but if you want the lowest power draw choose low voltage RAM.

Yes, having the fan blowing in is what Corsair recommends but they also suggests that the user should try the opposite to see which config gives the lowest temperature.

Re: Possible to turn off video card?
There's no need to have more than one cable connected in order to use Lucid Virtu. Though this technology is a nice idea I was hoping for more. Unfortunately, when the IGP are in use the video card is still active, albeit in idle, so the power draw won't be as low as in a system with only an IGP and...

Unless someone know for sure whether or not the cooler will fit your specific card, Arctic Cooling has a height restriction drawing on their site that might help you to determine if it will fit.
