It has to be good. It got the Bling Bling award.
Looks can be deceiving - though I too would like to see (hear) what this thing really stacks up to be.

I recently bought an 80GB WD SE for a couple of systems. I have to admit that I was quite impressed. There was no jet-airliner whining, and I could barely tell it was on. I also didn't notice the intermittent "chirps" that my 200GB Seagate does every so often. I give WD a thumbs up. Looks like they ...

I can imagine a hit on video editing, as my 7200RPM 8MB cache cuda just sits there with the HDD light blaring for as long as it takes to render. I think that is space isn't an issue that a larger Samsung or Seagate 7200RPM/8MB cache drive would be a good fit for you. Otherwise I'd wait for the new S...

Hahahaaaaaaaaa The computer pooped on you. What a perfect opportunity to have them replace the HSF!!! Jump on the opportunity now before they bring it back screaming again!!! Yeah I said poop, and yeah I guess you could wear earplugs all day. But I think eventually you'd get sick of that. Anyway, co...

Is your PC on the floor? Under the desk? I've had to place my PC on the floor because the MaXtor HDD whines so much that it annoys the hell out of me. Not to mention that if I put a CD-ROM in someone can feel it 20 feet away... Maybe you could talk to someone in your IT department about changing the...

Weird. I was lying in bed last night reading The Onion when I heard this noise. At first I thought it was something outside, but when I put my ear up to my PC I knew it was my 200GB Seagate. I'm glad it's a new drive and that it will go away. It is annoying though...I wonder how long the specified t...

Tomato tomatoe. I guess it would be worse if someone accidentally got Seagate and MaXtor confused, or recommended a 40mm fan to cool your cpu. :) I just used the anandtech website to limit the risks involved setting up my A64m system. I am the only user up there (or at least was with my MSI board) w...

I've been thinking about doing the same thing for my hard disk too. It gets a bit toasty in my Micro-ATX case, and I'd like to try and help it out. I've been eyeing some old Pentium II heatsinks, and found a really nice one in a Compaq Deskpro that someone threw out on the curb. Funny thing is, I to...

You should try on an AMD 64m. They run pretty cool, especially the 35w ones. You can find tons of info about moving into this sector here:
