Re: Your opinion on US gun laws under Obama.

IClassic question dodge. Let me rephrase it for you. If you were the President, had both houses full support (and had been democratically elected), would you (as you DO have the power), dramatically cut down on the gun ownership of your people if there was solid proof that the murder rate would hal...

Re: be quiet! Dark Rock 2 Tower Heatsink

This is just one product; I wouldn't write off or judge the entire brand based on this review. I have in hand a couple of very promising Seasonic-made gold & platinum 80+ PSUs from bequiet! that I'll be tackling soon. As far as the brands range of PSU's go I've never had any bad experiences, at all...

Re: Zalman Z9 Plus ATX Tower Case

No need to change it MikeC, those reading the review will understand that the view voiced (and put in the con section) was made from a personal viewpoint, not from a case functional view point.

Re: Zalman Z9 Plus ATX Tower Case

I don't really believe you should have "Ugly" in the cons section, it comes across as rather unprofessional. I actually find the case decent looking, if bordering on the gaudy side, and it certainly looks better than a fair few of the "gaming" style cases out there. If anything, I think the review ...

Re: Best silent GPU at $200 - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 SOC?

The cards aftermarket cooler options... This is what I always look at when building a system, it doesn't mean it's right for you and I'm in no way implying it is, but I feel it's a wise approach to take. No fun having spent $200 on a card to later discover that you cannot fit an aftermarket cooler o...

Re: Changing fan on the HD6950

I see no reason for why that wouldn't work. You wouldn't even have to remove the fan, simply disconnecting it should do just fine. http://www.bjorn3d.com/Material/revimages/video/Sapphire_HD6950/04.jpg Edit: I suppose you could mount three 92mm fans on there also. The fans would be within the width ...

how do you get terrible airflow with too many vents?.
For the very same reasons you would get higher temperatures after having removed the left side panel on your case. You kill the airflow.

I don't see why you would try to impose SPCR standards on any of their gaming enclosures. I don't see how you could suggest that I were imposing SPCR standards when pointing out that there were no noise reduction or dust filters on the case to begin with. Need I remind you that there are "gaming ca...

SapphireHD 5850 1GB + Zalman VF3000A Looks like a good combo, do you think that would be good for noise? Most defiantly better than stock, it should also (seeing the two 92mm fans) allow for you to keep the noise at a decent level during gaming whilst still maintaining decent temps. This being a qu...

Hi Whatever your decision is in terms of brand do yourself the favour of staying away from cards sporting the dreaded 128-mem interface, other than that it's green to go. for either brand / card. Both will be doing the job equally well at 1680x1280 resolution and should, with a few reservations, han...

Hi Morten If you opt for the Antec Mini P180 you will need to get a new motherboard, it does not support full size ATX boards. I would recommend you a mini ATX board from Gigabyte, one which supports up to 6GB of RAM. Reason is I would like to see you (I view this to be sound, because your CPU is st...

Hi and welcome to SPCR! I think that the case from Silverstone would be the way to go here, the better purchase. You are on a budget. You are looking for a case that will last you a few years. And you do not wish to modify. I think those factors rule out the SOLO. I truly like it though, and used it...
