Ok. You are: 1. feeding psu with cold air thru the back intake (PSU temps drop), and 2. cold air is cooling back of the motherboard and CPU (CPU temps drop), right? In that case you are decreasing PSU efficiency in evacuating the heat from the rest of your rig, resulting in: a. NB temp rise b. VGA t...

In fact, if you try to increase airflow through the PSU by putting fans in the rear, if it wasn't specifically designed for airflow from the rear AFAIK Zalman ZM400B _IS_ designed for airflow from the rear (no bottom intakes) I was planning a setup like this (with the same psu): ___________________...

In my setup I'm planning to locate the heatsinked drives on the bottom of the case and make intakes at the bottom (to cool HDD and avoid front intake noise issue). I will make second intake below the video card (to passively cool vid. card heatsink with a duct over it) ... and of course I'll copy th...

...The reason for this is the rear intake. If I cover it up, force all the air through the front filter, the drive temp goes down......but what happens then is the cpu temp goes up I was thinking that the rear intake so close to the cpu duct is the reason why hdd gets so little airflow... but i did...

So who's going to be the first person to duplicate this setup, maybe with a different board, PSU, heatsink, case? maybe i'm not going to be the first, but i will definetly follow you one-fan-computer path in about 3 weeks for now (i hope). Well ok.....I give up for now. That HD fan stays, since I c...

Added an AIW 7500 video card, and two other pci cards. Testing how the new cards affected airflow revealed only a slight PSU temp increase of 1C.....looks like it's good to go. good to hear that! I know this is not a setup for hardcore gamers, but can you measure temps with hotter video card runnin...

well... in your case (no pun intended) vga heat won't be a problem (lucky you :) ). But since I want to use something more powerfull (and hot) than 9200 i've got to figure out how to transfer the heat from passive zalman heatsink to outside (without adding heat to the case). I've got the point - it ...

sorry for not answering your questions: > bluefront: Is there airflow over your hard drives? front intake (not on a drawing) thru 5,25'' bay > pangit: if the only case fan in your system is the PSU one that would make it a negative pressure system, which would mean the VGA hole [...] would be intake...

if you are not a dedicated gamer - go for XP-M - less heat disscipation makes it much better suited for silent systems. xp-m also has a great overvlocking potential, so if you want to play some serious games - all you have to do is to rise fsb and play!
